Awesome stuff Richard, I’ve been Using the Gt3582R turbo for close to a decade, BTW there are Many Compressor wheel trims even when called Gt3582, Run hard on B20A, B20B, F20c, K20Z, and even LRR 3.7 in-line 5, with water and oil cooled setup. Theese turbos love HEAT, A simple back to back Run with Operating temp heat in the Commpressor side will do wonders. On the street or track, Brake boosting/ two step takes care of most Lag on smaller Displacements, But I have always Loved the feeling of A bigger Turbo Rather than a Big torque smaller turbo that runs out of breath at high RPM. I run my engines to 7k to 10k and need the high rpm flow. Amazing work Richard!!! I’ve even ran back to back comparison with Holset HX35w turbos and they seem to be similar as long as the Hot side AR is closely matched to engine displacement and RPM requirements. Slant 6 with a single Gt35/HX35 would be Amazing!!!

I am really doubtful that they can do 1000hp. With methanol and no wastegate on a 12 to 1 engine maybe. They only flow about 87lb/m and it's just not enough to make 1000hp with gasoline as the fuel.

He did that test in another video in January, etched it yesterday. The single did spool earlier, both made the same power level, but I think the reason was he did the test on a smaller LS, and the back pressure was different - more on the single turbo, making it spool earlier. Cool video though. Definitely want to see these on a larger displacement motor and see if they spool earlier.

its not single vs twin-it the actual turbos you are testing-take a look at the big turbo test video where we tested single vs twins
@dennisrobinson80082 жыл бұрын
@@backinmotionchiropractic4371 The results were surprising. For whatever reason we would think the twins would spool better and have better response, but in Richards test up to around 1000HP, the appropriate sized single turbo for the power level seems to spool quicker, make more midrange torque and power than twins of half the power level. The dual turbos come into play when you need huge power numbers that a single can't support. Personally I like how twins "sound" better, so I would run them for that purpose and deal with a little less efficiency.

really depends on your skills and how far your going to go. if you can fabricate, and are savvy enough to build and tune a speeduino(or your OE computer can be tuned DIY). I think you would be amazed how cheap it can be done. my first turbo setup was 2 welded together cast manifolds (which never cracked, thanks internet hearsay) and an old school megasquirt kit built from components. Nowadays megasquirt has gone closed source and is so dear your aswell going a decent standalone IMHO its no longer the budget king or tinkerer friendly. anyways, with some junkyard parts the car went from driving NA to driving turbo and double the HP for about £350. that was a 1.4 16v engine, from about 105hp to a solid 220.

Have you done any testing on the Ebay 7875 billet wheel? I am installing one in place of an Ebay GT45. Hoping the 7875 spools a little quicker. We also have a Ebay 7875 on a gen 4 5.3, and it works awesome!

I have a single gt3582 with the billet compressor wheel going on my stock bottom end 302. Only thing stopping me is the fact that I have 4.10's and I need something in the 3.31-3.55 range. Btw im running a blowthru carburetor, set of blueprint 190cc heads w/ compcams guideplates and hardened pushrods/upgraded .600 lift springs, a ported weiand xcellerator intake, lunati 51014 cam, and 1.7" roller rockers. Pretty stout for a n/a setup with head flow on par with the trickflow 11r 170cc heads.

Richard what happens when you pull the LSA down to 108 or so like you would the na small blocks. I think big power with heads like the 823 I spent hours making sbc heads flow. I was never able to get 315 at 28 .I want to build an na 6.0 and see what happens.

@boosted2.4_sky3 жыл бұрын
I sincerely doubt that was the .63 housing they're probably 1.0 or at least .82... you use a .63 on a 1.8 L or maybe a 2.0 .. I can't see it on a V8 even if you have two...got to be the .82...

@@boosted2.4_sky Yea thats not true. I use .63's and they make great power. Also .63's have made 900whp.

How reliable are they? I'm thinking about a cheap twin turbo setup on my daily 3.6L HFV6, I definitely will be using gt3582, just should I get these, or spend up and get genuine garrett?

@richard still waiting on more L83 videos I know your busy. But I think a single turbo would be more practical for most people, also a how to add boost to a 5.3 video would be cool. 😎

What about longevity? Is it possible to find a guy that can run these on his daily driver so we know whether they can hold up more than a few hundred miles?
@Black-Villain3 жыл бұрын
I've had a Chinese eBay GT45 on an engine of mine, and it's held up for about... 27k miles so far. So I don't really have any complaints. And if it blows, I can just buy another for $150
@albundy80523 жыл бұрын
@@Black-Villain If IT blows, it will also damage the engine.

@@albundy8052 If the turbine and other components can make it through my intake routing, intercooler, throttle body, and intake plenum, it's meant to be. Also highly doubt that would ever happen, a seal is much more likely to go way before the turbo experiences catastrophic failure. Especially on a relatively mild street setup like mine

@@Black-Villain ... Which eBay seller did u purchase the GT45 turbo from??? I'm thinking about getting one for my 5.7L Hemi Ram 1500
@Black-Villain3 жыл бұрын
@@ghostrt1608 Don't remember, just pick a seller with a good rating and a decent number of sales and you should be fine. Also if it's for a street setup, if I were to do it again, I'd get a GT3582 for better throttle response and less lag
