@@justinthomas85 Pace notes in Dirt Rally 2.0 are recorded three times for every stage. One at low speed, one at medium speed, and one at high speed. The pace of pacenote playback during gameplay changes as the player goes faster or slower. Try it. Drive very slow in a few corners (Phil will sound almost bored), then drop the hammer after a minute and notice how the codriver sounds totally different, as if on the edge of his seat all of a sudden. Oh, and the chair Phil is sitting in while it records his pacenotes vibrates at various levels of intensity, depending on pace.

Honestly what has helped me get better is driving the Camaro through the tracks, once you get good at getting that car through a track you can use any 4 wheel drive car immediately after and your times will be much faster. Give it a try.

You should go and see them in real life, it's mental, we were at Wales Rally in 93, 94, 95 to see McRae win, and 96, and in 96 we were at one stage that was ice covered gravel, the part we were at was a fast 4 left into a steep downhill forest section 200 yards with a sharp 1 left at the bottom of the downhill. They were coming round the 4 left at unbelievable speeds, and didn't brake for the 1 left at the bottom, until the absolute last second, on icy gravel too. They looked like they were going straight on if they were in a normal car, but with the studded tyres (that gave off sparks in the dark) and big brakes and even bigger balls, they made it round they corner easily. They were great years to watch rallying, now, not quite as exciting because they're too quiet, still go like rat you're trying to stab, but definitely too quiet.

They train it on private circuits and of course in this game like Jon here, but it gets broken down into individual driving skills. Put it all together and they are able to do this. Starting out in the sport they drive allot slower obviously. So this is why this is crazy for you to see, but for them it’s completely normal.

4 is not the recommended gear. The sharpness of the corner is numbered between 1 and 6. That 50 means not the recommended speed. It means the distance until the next corner/hill/ whatever comes. So in this case it means: after the crest, in 50 meters the track tightens.

I got it with ps plus. Going to buy the season pass or whatever it’s called. Great game. Although, I find dirt 2.0 much much easier then dirt rally. 2.0 feels like arcade with a slight sim element and I’m not complaining. Dirt rally took ages just to finish without trashing car. 2.0 just feels natural, right away. Saying that, I’m not pro.

I would too, but Toyota these days is extremely difficult to get licensing for in racing games. I think it's something to do with their company having an eco-friendly direction so they think it's inappropriate to have their cars show up in racing games or something.

Too much understeer on the bends. Theres just no throttle oversteer in this game with AWD whatsoever except for on really tight hairpins. Richard Burns Rally gave you more control over the car through the throttle than Dirt Rally does. Im not hating on Dirt Rally 2. I love the game. Its just the lack of throttle oversteer once you get past 2nd gear corners/bends that annoys me. If you watch WRC drivers they do actually throttle oversteer on longer faster bends as well as tight 1st or 2nd gear hairpins.

I honestly think that one issue stops Dirt Rally 2 from being truly great. It feels fantastic to drive, but that one problem gradually started to put me off playing. There are lots of bends in the game where you just know that it should be possible to get some throttle oversteer going on, but you just can't and the car understeers.

There is plenty of throttle oversteer if you have the car in the right position. This game is all about weight transfer, just like IRL. If you pin the throttle with all the weight on the front wheels then it will just push out wide with understeer, like a 4WD car should do.

You hit the brakes, steer and go full out with the throttle to start the drift, then it's all brake and throttle with steering for minor adjustments. if you have a double corner, good luck doing it with steering alone

I have this Dirt Rally 2.0. I play on cockpit view but I don't get a driver nor does my steering wheel move, I have the settings on for driver, cockpit but still no driver. Any ideas anyone please? All sorted now thanks 👍

Dirt 4 had an arcade mode and sim mode but if you were using controller you were locked to arcade mode. Dirt rally series is just sim no arcade so it's going to be real and tough
