Great work. Those clutch bolts may have a dab of thread lock on them hence the reason they didn’t want to come out. Just a quick blast with the maf gas should melt the thread lock and then they’ll come out easy

Great tip, didn't even consider thread lock until I started putting it back together, will remember next time 👍

Nice one. I seen on a different video it was said that you won't get friction plate to line up without the bmw alignment tool, did you use this or just do it by eye ? If not how did you hack it? Looks like you are cracking on, be sorted in no time 👍

Hi mate, just did it by eye, the back plate didn't really make a difference 👍 thanks for watching

When I did this repair on my K1200RS, which has a very similar clutch setup, I stuck the clutch push-rod into the pilot bearing in the engine output shaft, then slipped a 3/8” drive socket over the pushrod. I believe it was the 12mm socket that the outside diameter was a perfect fit inside the splines of the clutch disk, but you’d have to try different sizes to find the best fit. The 3/8” square drive hole is a little sloppy fit to the push rod, so I wrapped a little scotch tape around the push-rod to snug it up. I’ve done 2 clutches this way and the transmission lines up and installs easily with that trick. No need for a special tool.

Did you grease the clutch splines with Moly grease on assembly? Did your clutch come with a little packet of grease? Did you remember to grease all the splines?

@@danpos1971 Hi Dan, didn't come with the grease but had some SACHS clutch grease 👍

Wouldn't think so, I just got the torque settings online, as long as they are tight you should be ok 👍
