Yeah man!!! LOVE IT!! Being from Alabama. Outkast and Goodie Mob and the entire Organized Noize regime really gave us a HIP HOP identity. It was an amazing time. Artists that talked like us, dressed like us, thought like us, lived how we lived and didn’t try to chase the West Coast or East Coast sound. Pls More Goodie Mobb. And older Outkast. DEAD PREZ- "HIP HOP" it's a hip hop classic. Their music was literally so political the industry wouldn't let them blow up or get into the mainstream. Cell Therapy is the real political song she was remembering, definitely worth a listen but check out the song Soul Food as well (Title Track), i grew up listing to Goodie Mob and Outkast. The southern rap sound is different and that has always made it so great, always a deeper "Thought Process" to explaining what it's all about down here.😎✌ Plenty of southern rap like UGK, 8-ball & MJG, Scarface and many more.........

This isn't the GoodieMob song y'all should've done.. try "In due time" "Soul Food" "Black Ice" "Get Rich to this". Dirty South is more of an album cut imo. The best song from the collective is hands down "Watch the Hook". Check those out. Great work y'all!

FYI, the REDDOG unit was put together as an anti-drug task force. REDDOG (Run Every Drug Dealer Out of Georgia). From what I heard back then.....they were VERY DIRTY with their tactics, etc.

Good review. You guys got the basic jist of things. Some stuff went over heads,I think because of the heavy heavy slang. Plus that was the clean version where a lot of words were replaced and some just muted. When the say Bill Clinton or Jed Clamptet, its slang for a white guy. He's talking about a white guy fronting(giving on consignment)him drugs to sell in his own community. He talks about not paying what he owed and daring the distributor to retaliate. But retaliation comes in the form of police raids. "Got everybody on they hands and knees, and they ain't gonna leave till they find them keys" kilos of dope.So "what you niggas know about the dirty south" is asking if you understand how crooked the law enforcement is down there.
