Those extractor fans are no doubt bathroom ones as you say, Matt. Their extract rate is usually around 30 litres per second. Even if they’re super-beefy kitchen ones they’re likely to have an extract rate of 60 litres per second. An extract fan will take a fair few minutes (probably about twenty) to clear the steam from a typical UK bathroom. Del basically needs the extract unit from a commercial kitchen or pizza shop to act effectively in a workshop of that size. In the normal run of things he’s probably better just opening a window to get rid of fumes.

We had to watch him raise his lift, clean it, and cover it, only for him to put his few bits of scrap metal on it for a few seconds while he sat at it explaining what he was gonna do, for him to then transfer them to a different bench, to wipe them over, for him to then take them back over to the lift where he still had to do loads of stuff before he could start the work. Including screwing together bits of wood over his clean covered lift with the metal he’s going to paint right there. He could’ve just filmed the painting bit, not edited it, and put the video up. He probably would’ve had the same amount of views, for only 5 minutes work.
@noggintube5 ай бұрын
Yeah I honestly can't believe he has any subscribers at all with the worthless content he's making. Wasted nearly 2 minutes of an 11 minute video just faffing with the bench and blankets etc. The finish on these is shoddy even for Del, yet there's still people praising him. They must be trolling or so bad at this stuff themselves they genuinely believe that's good work. I almost feel sorry for him though, he must just do this now for the views and nothing more. No passion, interest or motivation, just film a bad job and pad it out with views of removing tools and unscrewing bits off and back on the bike.
@greggbrassett69895 ай бұрын
@@noggintube makes me think about starting my own channel. I’m honest about my work. It’s about as good as dels. However I don’t market myself as a professional or a teacher or instructor. All my work is on my own bikes, which are all pretty old and very well used, and will never be sold on. And all my work is to a ‘that’ll do’ and ‘at least it’ll work’ stage, and that’s usually what I say whenever I finish jobs. And that’s how I would do videos if I did them. Just to give someone something to watch, and I would tell people not to copy me if they care what it looks like. But my life is too busy, and I don’t have the time or energy between bike rides to do anything over and above just getting stuff usable again, so I’ll probably never do videos. If del marketed himself like that, he would look better. It’s the stuff he says and his self congratulatory and patronizing tone and the looks on his face that really make him unwatchable for me.

@@spigot993 oh yeah, I was embarrassed for him. Didn’t he say ‘I’ve got an ingenious way to get the engine out of the frame’ or something? If you don't bother saving weight on the bolts, pretty soon there will be something else that you don't bother about either, and then the trend continuous. That's why I worship Gordon Murray. If you want to use a bolt bigger than 10mm at the design stage, you have to explain why. As a result, all of his creations are mega light.

Forgiveness would require Del to be contrite and make amends for his actions. Calling the police for being criticised... That arrest (and it was an arrest because he was detained and questioned) could have destroyed matts career, fucked a security clearance and be something he has to declare for 15 years. Similarly the actively illegal false DMCA claims. Forgiveness has to be earned. The idea you have an obligation to forgive someone whose made no attempts at recompense or apology or even admitted they were in the wrong is fucking insanity. As for praise... He has done, the chain video with the cardboard prop Del did matt recommended as a good piece of content. That however isn't the big problem with Del. Del's eventually going to kill someone following his advice, he's ALREADY maimed someone who followed his shitty repair advice.
