In heavy industry, we totally do the "heat it up with a torch, and quench it in a combustible liquid" trick... Real popular at natural gas plants, last thing we want there is corrosion. Ive also seen bad practises and corrected apprentices in a machine shop, i try and impart all my knowledge and tips to them, the new gen of techs/engineers. It doesn't mean i know it all but my dad was a heavy plant mechanic, Im also ex REME so I think I'd trust myself and Matts advice. Del is a bus drver (former). What are his quals in the field of automotive/motorcycle mechanics to quantify himself as a mechanic?..

Bloomin heck... one of the first times I ever watched his channel.. I was searching for info on how to change head race bearings on my dirt bike. I watched in horror as he beat the lower one off with a cold chisel. I then watched a fork oil vid he did and quickly decided he wasnt the right fella to get advice from. It's as if hes so enthusiastic that reality doesnt really matter. His safety measures and tips are like how my dad used to go about things. Funny vid.... how on earth did he get a TV slot... jeeez.

I thought he was making a winch mount bracket on the front of that bike at first. Ok, I have seen what surface grinders mounted into an 800lbs cast iron housing can do when things go wrong, but using a vised drill as a lathe with a hand held angle grinder as a tool post grinder but by hand? I have now seen it all. At least he wasn't wearing gloves around the lathe, that's a big no no.

A number of years ago I thought I'd watch a couple of videos to refresh my memory on how to something, in fact I watched a couple of db's videos, I then discovered I knew more than he did ! Okay he's probably a better bus driver than me, or you'd hope so.... He is very good at reducing bikes to rat bikes though, even very decent ones - so if you want to reduce your bike to heaps of crap whilst using dodgy practices, del-middle aged bloke's your man - he is the bullshitting bloke down the pub !
