90-92 Normally Aspirated, 5 Speed in midnight blue metallic, with some very nice options, such as the upgraded stereo, security system and power steering. looks to be REALLY good shape given the time it's been sitting outside in the elements, and looking even better now. Good work! if I get my MR2 back on the road, I'll give you another video to make with one of these go karts.

Is it not a turbo with the t-top?
@matto74893 жыл бұрын
@@logandrennon4430 no. Turbo would have raised louvers/vents on the engine lid, fog lights, and turbo badging on the rear deck.
@mickeymang63 жыл бұрын
It's not the upgraded stereo. They just have the rear speaker grills with aftermarket speakers. There were supposed to be actual speaker boxes inside there. Plus the speaker grill would have been painted blue to match the interior.

Thanks for the blast from the past. My sister had a red MR-2 like this when new and I had the 3rd generation '93 Rx-7 in red too at the time. Her MR-2 was a beast to polish because it felt like they did not put a clear coat on it and every time you polish and wax it, your polishing cloths looked like a murder scene and they were all red. It sounded cool when driven hard and people thought it was a Ferrari.

@JB-zu5gb2 жыл бұрын
MR2 owner. Front normally has a liner in it. It houses the battery which has a tie down and then the spare fits overtop of it in the molded liner. The trunk still had it's carpet liner in it which is cool as that's getting harder and harder to get ahold of. Still had the "sport" 14inch wheels. I sold mine years ago but kind of which I hadn't. Today I have blitz Type03's on it. The car is nearly rear engine with how far back it sits and definitely handles a lot more like an old porsche. As other comments pointed out taping off a lot of the electronics is a wise idea to ensure nothing happens. I've not had too many issues with mine but I also don't typically hose down the engine bay. The paint I believe is a single stage paint and super soft as well as didn't hold up well to daily driving in my opinion. Like all pop ups they love to "wink" as the motors wear out. The frame rails love to rust on these and I spent a number of years looking for one that was relatively clean. I also specifically looked for a hardtop to avoid the dreaded t-top leaking which I got to experience in my Z32 300zx. As this car was a 5SFE car I bet that thing would run after being dunked in the ocean. The 3SGTE isn't terrible but definitely more temperamental. Easy way to tell the Turbo and non-Turbo's apart is the engine decklid is flush for NA cars and raised vents for Turbo cars. You'll also get people trying to tell you about the twin turbo MR2 that they swear they saw back in the day but are referring to "twin-entry turbo" badging that was on the cars. Weather seals are a pain in the ass to get ahold of and I bought some from Toyota 8 years ago or so for when I do a full restore on mine. The transaxle in these, S54 for the non turbo and E153 for the turbo are solid units. The E153 is incredibly stout and can take a ton of abuse. The cars were made available with basically no aides and my car has no ABS, no power steering or power windows. On the interior of the car, behind the rear seats are two cubbies. An option for some MR2's is a subwoofer in the cubby. Your mouse nest is all the sound deadening between the firewall and the cabin. Looks like it ripped up most of it and relocated it :) . Great job on that mr. two.
