If you really wanted to go the extra mile, you could test the resistance of the battery cable and compare it to a similar setup. Values should be similar. Continuity only tests if there is a break but if the wire got melted for example, it could still pass continuity but still be damaged.

Good point. For safety we will pursue full replacement just in case. We do have a 2024+ cruiser available to check it. We will keep that in mind.

Sounds like a catastrophic Chinese mosfet failure in the controller that caused the balancer to poop the bed as well. Nice that you showed (and explained!) to your viewers the the actual basic electrical troubleshooting process. It's sad how many "Shop" channels will, ignorantly, just throw parts at a prob., behind the scenes, until they guess correctly, or even sadder, will hide/ not explain their troubleshooting process, like their hiding Merlin's magic formulas or something! Too many business owners don't realize that a huge component of service based business is trust! If you continue to CONFIDENTLY display your COMPETENCY, like this, you WILL build trust! Great job Gentlemen!

Good video! I have 900 miles on my 24 +. With no issues! Should I replace the balancer just in case this happens to mine?? Or don’t worry about it? Is wired sending customers new balancer s because others are having same issues? Are all the stock balancers bad? On video you said it could of been factory installation error. Maybe pinched or open wire ?

The motor is running in reverse. This can happen if the speed controller resets to default or the circuitry for the hall sensors has blown. Two ways to repair this. 1st see if the controller has self learning wires these are usually 2 white wires that can plug together. These wires determine to direction of rotation. If the motor is running in reverse you need to connect the self learning wires then run to motor for a few seconds it should now run forward. Then you can disconnect them & it will stay running forward. If the controller does not have any self learning wires then you need to switch around the yellow & blue phase wires. Or you can switch the hall sensor wires instead. Will have the same effect of making the motor run the opposite direction. If the motor still runs like crap after this then its most likely the hall sensor circuitry in the controller has failed. You can then either replace the controller or discontent the hall sensor plug & run the motor senor less. Running sensor less is not ideal as can be a bit jerky at pulling off from stand still but better than nothing.
@1bottlefed3 күн бұрын
Actually the motors clutch failed and since you continued to operate the bike the controller reported an error (As it should) due to the RPM seen by the phase wires not matching the amp load. Then the blender popped.

This is not true. If you watch through the video you will see it tested with another wired e-bike. Thanks for watching!

@@ElectricAllWheel Thanks.... Did you ever pull the motor core to see if its spinning backwards or if the motor is just jittering and that is able to cause the clutch to not engage?

@EBikeBuilder_3 күн бұрын
the way it sounds like its spinning so freely internally- makes me think it might be spinning backwards internally (controller problem). Or else something is wrong with the clutch on the planetary gear carrier- it might be "kind of engaging" if the keystock that bites between the axle and the clutch broke. If you have broken nylon gears it usually sounds crunchy. I had that SAME EXACT BALANCER and it went bad and destroyed everything that was connected to it

@MHH31803 күн бұрын
It isn't working to just jam components into any empty space in the frame. The other day I worked on an Aventon that the controller cut the hydraulic brake line. If we had a fully funded and functioning CPSC, like we had until The 80's, with residual effectiveness through The early 2k's, these would not make it past the port of entry. I am finding thst BMS's, regardless of price range, even with new, perfectly matched, batteries just can't handle dual batteries. I am telling people who want them they need to just swap them as needed. You've been inside of them. At best these are early 90's tech.
