The magic attic club was actually a book series in the 90s. The characters had a dress up trunk in the attic and were magically transported into a story based on the outfit they wore, if I remember correctly. I remember that I was torn between buying them and goosebumps at the bookstore. As for Melanie's Mall, I have almost all of the sets. Wish I could show you my IG toy account!

Crissy was the "it" doll of her time 1969-74. She was a great doll I had her fashion case and several official outfits-handmade ones were also popular. She very much had a teen feel. there was also baby doll version of crissy that could wear regular infant clothes. There were also friends and family members in the doll line with various apparent doll ages and sizes. Her clothes were definitely early 70;s in style and fabric. I had mine from childhood until last years flood destroyed her.

Magic Attic wasn't creepy at all! I read the books back in the 90's, and it's about a group of friends and the magic trunk they found in their attic. It was very whimsical and cheerful. I never got to own any of the dolls but I loved the stories of their characters. Crissy was before my time, but my mom owned Velvet, one of Crissy's friends, back in the 60's when the line was on shelves. She kept it long enough that I got to play with it and I loved the hair growing mechanism.

You know, when you're unsure about stuff (like if movie Brats came with a camera or not) it would be cool if, in post-op, you could look it up and just slap a picture on with like "I was right!" for a second after you ask the question, or you know "Nope, it was ____" or even "I have no idea why I thought this this isn't true at all" lol. It would just give some extra oomph to the vid~!

Don’t forget the Disney Film Collection dolls, they were the very detailed 12 inch doll line that looked like the live action characters from the Disney movies but were discontinued after the horrible face sculpt of Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast. Tanya is an Italian doll and it got discontinued in the early 2010's, but they recently rebooted it, so it's not a discontinued doll line. Also, I think you should mention Pinky Street next time, they're Japanese dolls heavily inspired by street fashion of the 2000's and they were very popular with adult collectors and had various tie-ins with popular anime and characters, I used to think they were discontinued but they recently made a doll for Nami from One Piece but they're definitely not as popular and vastly produced as they used to

I know you said you aren't really into baby dolls but one doll line that I think was awesome and has a real fashion angle to it was the Baby So Beautiful line that came out in the late 90s. Each baby doll had a unique wig, face paint (3 possible face molds), and a unique outfit. There were quite a few outfit options in a variety of fabrics and patterns that made it so you would almost never see two dolls that were dressed just alike. I think it was a really cool concept and they were very good quality for a child's play doll.

I use to collect and repair dolls and learned many techniques to repair hair but it was never easy... Also the fairytale high dolls rather cheap they came out around 2013 , and the legs very lose and had bald spots almost thought they were knock off until I saw em at toys r us , I kinda liked The one upon a zombie dolls, Mystixx vampires were a spin off of a doll line Mystixx cats they looked like bratz , I really didn't like vampire Mystixx but they had very lovely box art,

Fairytale High dolls were the fairytale characters in teenager version, that it is in my opinion a better idea than Ever After High, is more cool TANYA IS NOT DISCONTINUED! She is the Italian fashion doll She was born in 1971 as an imitation of Barbie with a lower quality and a cheaper price, but over the years her quality increased more and more, she has always been considered “Barbie’s tarot” or “The Barbie of the poor” ( only because she has a lower price which for me is a great value ) and for this reason she is criminally underestimated, when she has a great potential She was only discontinued in 2015 but now in 2020 she has had a reboot and now she is even better than Barbie because she has very soft hair, joints at the knees and beautiful dresses entirely in fabric As an italian boy I love her, i am so happy that my country has its doll and now I collect her

Magic Attic dolls consist of 5 dolls. The one you had the photo of is Heather, a Jewish girl, my favourite . There was also Alison,a sports fan, Megan, a bookworm. Keisha, an AfroAmerican girl. And finally Rosa, a Native American girl. They have a lady friend and at her attic they find a magic trunk, full of clothes, which transports them into different places and times. Quite interesting idea, imaginative. And there was a series of books that described their adventures. The dolls are beautiful, 18inch tall. But definitely not your style being, as you called them, todler dolls. I love them and have all of them. There was another doll in the club, Chloe, but she never had a book written of her adventures, and she was introduced at the very end so she doesn't really count.

@@krystynagac1872 In our community, we describe them as 18 inch dolls! Sometimes people call them child dolls too - as they are not babies/toddlers but also are not teenagers/adults!

@@MyNameIsErin Yes, exactly. That's what I thought. Thanks for explaining that to me. Hope you have read that Joey. I like all kinds of dolls, some more some less. But Magic Attic dolls were a kind of revelation for me. Spent hours on ebay trying to get them all. I still miss Chloe. And the booklets too. 😊❤️😍

Perle was a VERY successful and popular doll here in France ! She was a french competitor to both Barbie and Sindy. She was produced from 1981 till 1995,first by french company Delavennat then Delplay. In early 1990s the licence was brought by Hasbro who also bought the rights for Sindy ans Petra....before stopping their productions in the mid 90s.

Love the idea of dolls and books that go together, but I feel like the execution could be better

Love these discontinued lines. I’ve heard in videos you talking about pastels being used more with Barbie. I agree. You really need to check out Barbination channel on KZbin. His whole doll room is set up in pastels! It’s so pretty!

I've been binging these to see if you mention Melanie's Mall!!! She was a cheaper version of Polly Pocket, but I liked her bc she was much more posable: I remember she could sit up on her own, but the Pollys I had couldn't. Her mall was the nicest playset I ever owned. I was obsessed with the miniature pinball machines for some reason. OMG NOSTALGIA.

I was literally about to comment about Generation Girls and 10 seconds later they were on the screen. I loved those dolls! I had Tori (the one with the pigtails) except the one that I had was in a long black dress with a white undershirt and pigtails with blue streaks. I absolutely adored her.

Tanya is an italian doll and in the 70s/80s she looked like Sindy but she slowly became more similar to Barbie from the 90s. The line was discontinued in early 2010s and she recently she was rebooted. At the moment you can still find her in italian stores but she doesn't appear in Giochi Preziosi's catalogue, so I don't know what her destiny is.
