Very nice video and really liked the way you went through things in a logical order and at a great pace. Would love to see one on Local Adjustments.

Thanks! I think I can make a video on the local adjustments in Photo Lab. I really enjoy using them so let me put something together.

Hi Chris, Thank you for showing DXO Photolab. I like the lens correction and as you will no doubt get into the software the Deep Prime noise reduction and also lens sharpening option can allow for very sharp images and extract a lot of detail, may be even too much detail at time. It would be interesting to see you compare the On1 No Noise vs DXO Deep Prime. Anyway thank you again. Take care.

Hey Andrea thanks for the comment and I do plan to compare the two programs. At first glance I think ON1 beats Deep Prime, but that is just anecdotal information right now. I have not done the comparison. Where I think Photo Lab shines is the color management and initial RAW processing. There are just far more options available from cameras that I don't own and likely will never own. The idea that I can get a look from a camera I don't own is exciting and that is why I use Photo Lab. I also like the U Control masking options. They offer a different level of masking that is hard to use at first but gives a unique result at the end.

@FreeWillPhotos yes On1 may well beat Deep Prime now in noise reduction. I don't think DXO has improved Deep Prime since last version or not by much. I too like the camera settings and looks in DXO. Looking forward to your comparison.

I'm in Russia so due to the sanctions the only way I can download the optics modules is with the help of VPN. I found out about it accidentally, the DXO support denied any sanction policies and couldn't have helped me to download the modules.

So sorry for your difficulties, my wife and all of the family on her side are Russian. It's a very difficult situation. Unfortunately, the USA hasn't figured out that sanctions only harm the Russian people, not the Russian government with whom these sanctions were meant to get to. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully this will all end soon.

Wow that is hard to navigate and I know it is not ideal for anyone involved. It is odd that DxO didn't have an official response and method of getting the modules to you, but hopefully your work around method allows you to get the latest modules.

FYI, the photo library is a good idea, but it does not show PSD files. I find this rather frustrating, as most people have PSD files. I panicked at first use as all my finished work was missing (I thought) in their photo library. It looks like you have most of your completed Photoshop or Affinity work missing when you view your hard drives in their photo library section. I know it's a raw editor, but then it shows jPegs. Even though I cannot work on PSD or Affinity files in DXO, it would be very useful if I could at least see my files. I have to use Adobe Bridge (I just cancelled all my subscriptions to this rotten company after 15 years) open in the background and DX0 in a second window. It is painful, and I know no one mentions this little nugget.

Thank you for the heads up on this, I am still learning a lot about PL, and I don't have too many PSD files that I am working with in the software. For me it is mostly RAW images and JPEG's to build collections of images for printing later down the line.
