🤍*Hugasan ang bigas. *Short-grain rice is softer and stickier compared to long-grain rice. This is due to higher starch content. *Mince-- can be translated as "magtadtad" when use as a verb, meaning to mince, dice or chop. You can also say "tadtarin". Example: Magtadtad ako ng bawang (I will mince garlic); Tadtarin ko ang sibuyas (I will chop the onion); Nagtatadtad ako ng bawang (I am chopping garlic). Tinadtad ko na ang bawang ( I have already chopped the garlic). *MINCED GARLIC adj.---can be translated as "TINADTAD NA BAWANG" Your cooking looks delicious! I’ve never had anything like that in my entire life. Maybe I should try your recipe. 😊 We are thrilled to see you featured in TV shows, commercials, and print ads in the Philippines.🤩

Hi kuya Kurt! I'm Dexter. Speaking of beef, I'm sharing you my ultimate Tapa and Bistek Tagalog recipe. Easy and super sarap! Beef Tapa Recipe (no need to marinate) Ingredients: beef sirloin(thinly cut, around 1/4 inch thick) = 500 grams soy sauce = 8 tablespoons brown sugar = 3 tablespoons Beef broth cubes (optional) = 5 grams garlic powder = 1 tablespoon black pepper (ground) = 1 teaspoon vinegar(cane) = 3 tablespoons water = 2 cups cooking oil (for frying) = 4 tablespoons Procedure: 1. Mix all the ingredients(except cooking oil) in a pot then let boil. 2. Add beef and cover the pot. Simmer for 1 hour in low heat. Keep it covered. 3. Remove the cover. Increase the heat and let the soup evaporate. Add cooking oil before the soup is completely evaporated then stir fry. 4. Fry until done. Remove excess oil. 5. Best served with soft boiled/fried egg and garlic/fried rice. Enjoy! * you can also make Bistek Tagalog out of this fried Tapa. Bistek Tagalog Recipe Ingredients: fried Beef Tapa = 250 grams onion (chopped) = 1 to 2 pieces calamansi/lemon juice (freshly squeezed)= 2 tablespoons soy sauce = 4 tablespoons water = 1 tablespoon cooking oil = 3 tablespoons black pepper (ground) Procedure: 1. Fry onions then add the liquid ingredients. Let it boil. 2. Add the fried beef tapa and pepper, then simmer for 5 minutes in medium heat. 3. Taste. You can adjust the proportion of soy sauce to lemon juice depending on your preference. 4. Serve with rice. Enjoy!

Avocado oil has high smoke point. I think that's the term you were looking for. Your beef salpicao looks really good. You can make it better though by marinating the beef for an hour before you sear it. The meat will be more flavorful and aside from that, it will become more tender and juicy. I also suggest that you cut the beef much smaller especially that you're using chuck roast. That way, the meat will cook faster & it will tenderize much quicker. And yes you are right. You can use other proteins for this recipe. I tried it with chicken and tuna. They were also very delicious. 😃 Thank you Kuya Kurt for sharing your cooking adventure to us. You might get some criticisms from your followers but that's because we want you to know how to make it better the next time you do it. 😉 Our kababayan are happy with what you're doing in your vlogs. So keep up the good work 👍
@JaniceH0704Ай бұрын
May I suggest the next time you cook is to prepare all your ingredients prior to cooking put into ramekins or containers measured or sliced accordingly and arranged nicely so it will lessen your stress while cooking, it’s a nice technique for those who are still learning how to cook. In the long run you will establish your flow

hello kuya kurt always watching your videos while eating some meal😅 a little bit of advice you have to lower the heat before you put something into hot oil and when your going to mix it turn down the heat into low heat so that you avoid from splashing the oil into your hands .. by the way mince in tagalog is "pino" when insert it to sentence you can say "Pipinuhin".

Hey there Kuya Kurt, love that you do Pinoy food, and I salute all foreigners that love to cook or learn to like our Filipino food, but unless it is stated in the recipe, to get a better Pinoy taste, always use the regular soy sauce, SIlver swan or Datu Puti SOy sauce if available especially for Adobo. Using japanese soy sauce charges the taste not really suitable for any Pinoy recipe, just fyi but try it with our soy sauce and see the difference. LOve your vlogs trully.

Kuya kurt. Since you were using a different cut of meat. You couldve sliced it even smaller when you cooked it and it would have been easier to eat. Filipinos dont use knife really. It'll be much easier for you to cook if everything (ingredients) is prepared ahead of time. That's how cooking channels do. Also, much easier for you to read and cook at the same time. Not all english words have tagalog translation. That's why a typical Filipino speaks taglish. There are a lot of words much easier to say in english than in tagalog. Rule of thumb, if you don't know it in tagalog, just say it in english. It's more acceptable and understandable. 😅
