So when I’m lining things up with vinyl from my cricut sometimes I stick some parchment paper underneath the sticky side. It won’t stick to it. Then you can line it up, peel the top back a bit and stick it, then peel the paper out slowly while smoothing it.

Interesting. The parchment paper is somewhat transparent right so you can see what's under it?
