But maybe by saving the orphans, they are depriving apex predators and other carnivores and herbivores of the forest from eating enough, and they'll starve to death? Like the stellar sea lions who don't have enough high-calorie fish to eat, and instead get full on lower-calorie fish, which deprives their bodies of the energy they need to reproduce?

Your urge to share those scenes of compassion and affection found among animals with us are proof and a reflection of your own beauty, Liz, Your calm way of sharing those treasures is quite rare on youtube where marked barkers are in the majority. @@carmenl163Hello carmenl163, you're partly correct and my apology is extended for my crass response. We deem ourselves, people as the benchmark of understanding and through our pride think that means in everything. 18 years ago, a mare I had foaled and according to the vet, died shortly afterward... what was amazing is that when I found her with my late wife, the foal was laying at the side of a hay bail with three coyote pups and their mother, still liking the fluid from his coat and face. Before God created man, He created all living creatures, in that Garden of Eden, those animals were in communion with each other, and I firmly believe that within the animal kingdom, there's a better understanding of what "communion" means. The understanding of what compassion is, is not our domain alone, nor understanding love... it is universal, no matter the genetic sequence Happy thanksgiving to you. We had ours

Were the bear, the lion and the tiger all kept in the same basement as kids? That would explain, to my mind, why they get along. They are old war buddies, they’ve been through the same war, fighting on the same side. To see sunlight again. They were all lonely and they kept each other company, and they were the closest thing that any of them had to a friend. No outside influence to tell them that they were different, or couldn’t get along, or shouldn’t get along. Now they’re inseparable.

@alantaylor6691
@alantaylor6691 2 жыл бұрын
@@erniesulovic4734 Ok. So I find the square-cube law very helpful. For example I can tell you how much a person will weigh if he you scaled his height up to 12'0" from 6'0"/180 lbs. Most people might assume that a 12-foot person will be twice the weight of its 6-foot counterpart given they are twice the height. But it doesn't work like that. It works according to the square-cube law so that a person that is 12-foot will be 8-times heavier than their 6-foot counterpart. Both have the exact same proportions but one is scaled up and one is scaled down. Now you can use this square-cube law to know the scaled height and weight of any 3D objects using the square-cube law. So to get the weight of a 12-foot man scaled from 6'0"/180 lbs: (12/6) (to the power of 3). Multiplied by 180. You could replace "mass" by "volume" if you need to. I'm not a maths person but have an amateur interest in knowing animal weights, so that's how I came across. It's just so handy. Because I"m not a maths person I can't explain the theory behind it well, but if you look it up you'd probably understand better than I. Now Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in recorded history, at 8'11" was a lean 495 lbs. If you scaled him down to 6'0" what would be his weight?

If I call my cat with a random name she doesn't react but if I call her by name she immediately starts purring. She approaches and displays nothing less than affection! She also sleeps during the day in the exact place I go bed so she must feel comfortable with my smell. She is old now so I'll soon miss this closeness. Animals are definitely capable of higher emotions.

God has designed every single organism on Earth to begin life competing with every other organism. Famine, drought, aggression, territorialism, infanticide, cannibalism, being eaten alive with your intestines pulled through your a$$hole, disease, starvation, abandonment… the list goes on. There is no chance in HELL that a benevolent, omnipotent, omniscient god created this world. The icing on the cake is that Humans, “made in His image”, are the ONLY species to have existential turmoil and GUILT for having been created in his IMAGE with all the urges of every other self-serving organism on Earth. If I were a god and I could do anything, I sure as sh!t wouldn’t spend my time creating a tortuous environment for my creations.

I think with animals they communicate differently than us so we don't always understand it. What we see as savagery is just being upfront with eachother. I have two cats and they have a typical sibling relationship, my big male would protect my small female with his life as he has previously shown but that doesn't stop him from being the one to give her a good wallop sometimes. Ive noticed a lot of animals, especially cats, can have a "fight" and then an hour later start playing like best friends. 🤔 Just thought this might be an interesting thing to add on as mine are house cats and have fortunately never had to experience poverty. I do however have a feral living in my shed and she's a lot different personality wise. Very sweet little girl! Thank you for looking after them, they need all the help they can get. X

I've had the honor to be witness to a very complex display of Empathy in one of our Dogs, Jo. She was a Wheaten Terrier who sadly passed away in 2017, at the age of 13. However, back in 2009, my Wife & I had her & her older 'Sister' Betty. In the summer, Betty was almost killed by our neighbor's Pit-bull/Akita mix & I had to take him on with my bare hands to save Betty's life. (But that's another story...) Anyway, after that event, Jo was enormously protective of Betty, who was 13 at the time & Jo became extremely aggressive around other dogs. Sadly, we made the mistake of fostering a young abused Husky Puppy, Maya, only a few months after the attack & also didn't let Jo meet Maya in Neutral Territory, which didn't help matters. Jo was so upset, we had to constantly monitor her for weeks after, because it always looked like she was going to attack Maya at the drop of a hat. Thankfully however, after about a month or so, Jo came to tolerate Maya, though she absolutely did not like her. Eventually we fully adopted Maya & after she turned about 8 months old, we took her to the Vet to get fixed. Now I have to back up a couple years, to put what Jo did to Maya after Maya got back from the Vet in better context: A couple years before Maya came along, my Wife had gotten very sick and had to stay in bed for a few days. At one point during that, Jo leaps onto the bed, gives my Wife a good sniffing, then jumps off & returns a little later with her favorite toy. She then places the toy on my Wife's head. The message was clear- 'This makes me feel better, it will make *you* feel better.' That in and of itself was an incredible expression of Empathy. But it gets better. Back to 2009- So I bring Maya in the house after her operation & she is tired & hurty & just flops down on a dog bed. A little while later, Jo, who still *clearly* did NOT like Maya at this point, comes up to Maya & also gives her a good sniffing. Jo wanders off, comes back with her favorite toy, and places it right by Maya's head. My Wife & I were just amazed & so proud of Jo for that. To try to help my Wife, who was Jo's Alpha, is one thing, but to help another dog Jo didn't even *like*, well, that's something else entirely...

I think the full stomach theory is spot on. Even in humans with dogs this varies. In more primitive cultures where food acquisition is important, pets are not purely pets...theynare useful friendly workers. They offer protection, pull sleight, help hunt etc. Only when all our needs are so fully provided for do we have pets just as "playthings".

I think these remarkable, beautiful relationships blossom where these animals don't have to be concerned about where their next meal is coming from or when and around what corner that deadly encounter might be. I can truly attest to the fact that animals have a remarkable and peculiar way of communicating their feelings. Peculiar is a word I use because they don't have any reserve for showing love and affection. They simply have an innate understanding when anything means them harm or good. And for good they show thanks and affection. They are one of the best things in our lives. It will truly be a blessed day when we can be one of the best things in theirs. It tears me up to see or know that any animal is being abused and neglected... Especially something that can't defend itself.

I live on a farm and we've got several types of animals, including chickens, ducks and turkeys. Our oldest bird is a duck named Chuck. Originally we got 5 baby ducks, but unfortunately a giant rat ate 4 of the 5 and Chuck was the only survivor. The chickens kind of adopted him and despite getting more ducks later on, Chuck seemed to prefer the company of chickens. In particular, he developed a special fondness for black hens lol. Just for him, we now make it a point to always have at least a couple black hens for Chuck. It's obvious at this point that Chuck considers himself a rooster, not a duck. He even mounts his black hens like the roosters do. Not only does he see himself as a rooster, but all the other roosters clearly pay reverence to Chuck as the top rooster. It's by far the oddest dynamic on our farm lol.

@@raweatsmcloving5255 This sanctuary is for huskies, and the polar bears are completely wild and are free to come and go. It is technically illegal for humans to feed polar bears under Manitoba's Endangered Species and Ecosystems Act. The sanctuary was cited and no longer able to do so, even though they had the ability and fed them as a means of protecting the huskies rehabilitating in their care. Within a few days after this footage was taken & the sanctuary was cited and forced to stop providing food, a polar bear did get to a different husky in the middle of the night. Was it a polar bear randomly turning on a husky, OR was a stable food source taken and left the bears starving? The fact it took several days before the bears resorted to this is amazing in itself. Either way you look at it, humans interfering in the bear's food source had everything to do with the outcome. Humans in survival mode can be, and are just as fierce in survival mode. Had the government not forced such actions without a better plan implemented, and they not forcibly remove the food source, this incident would not have happened. In the end, it was a dire situation, and not unpredictability, that caused a tragedy.

From all animals or birds I've been in contact or seen in my life, I can say not only they can feel emotions, but much more beyond this: is no common language with them, so they must be telepathic in a certain way; they are spiritually evolved and they protect us many times; they also feel when we're in danger or when we are sick. Now, I haven't met many humans like this, so I think the question should be asked otherwise.

Here's the best part for the gullible religious. Why is there empathy and care from one species towards another without the need of any threats of punishment from a god? Like us humans, no living creature (species) has ever needed any religious text, or a con-man’s advice to know what's right or wrong. Let me know if you've ever seen any other animal, including your house-pet. That’s ever learned any morals from any religious texts, etc... Yet... they seem to have a pretty good sense of morality.

This is very interesting. If we look at it from a broader perspective, wild animals don't seem to care what species you are, if they take a liking to you, you can get along just fine. Humans, on the other hand, seem way more fixated on differences between them and someone wise, whether it be them and another human. Or them and another animal. And over time, humans have put their fixation of differences onto wild animals. So now it seems super odd when different species get along so nicely. Anything is possible if you just let nature do its thing. :) 💕

😍 A lovely heartfelt video. 💞 I can only imagine that in the wild, where hunting, hunger and survival rule supreme, that these relationships simply would not work. But where you have an well-fed and well-loved and now only semi-wild animal (true nature been somewhat suppressed), then yes such a friendship could work. ....depending on the animals personality of course.

Golly, I am usually not interested in documentary les say type videos but heck this one was such an amazing theme and interesting video to watch. Seeing how animals of different species can come together is just so inspiring and breath takin of what nature is capable of
