Frustrated here - almost 70, been gluten, dairy, processed foods, most grains, free for close to 2 decades. Hashimotos, generally well controlled, antibodies around 40, taking LDN for years, armour. Type 1 diabetes at age 57 - other than situational stress at the time, no genetic markers showing a propensity other than maybe FUT2 polymorphism. Diabetes A1C in low 5’s. Never been overweight, size 6 for most of my life, stay active, osteopenia fairly early on. Recent DEXA scan showed .5 improvement in hip, no change in femoral neck, yet lumbar went from 1.8 to 2.9. Good gracious! After research, I see I have been doing so many daily activities incorrectly, incorrect bending, arching of spine, etc Now working on strengthening muscles in abdominal area and muscles around spine with weights, squats ( all proper form), and have appointment with naturopathic chiropractor to assist with this strengthening. HCY values between 6-7, CrP is low, take trace minerals, electrolytes with potassium, magnesium, D3/K2, also Mk7 with the magnesium, along with a boatload of other supplements. Just started with silica, strontium, ancestral supplements Living Bone and a few other things. Having a functional doctor, have been on HRT for years. Hoping to turn this around - at least back to osteopenia.

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis last year. Then almost a year later I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. I wondered if there was a connection. I did Ige and (Iga, I think that’s right) allergy tests. I was allergic to dairy and not gluten. My thyroid hormone levels have been in the acceptable range. I can’t believe how confusing it is to figure out how to improve osteoporosis.

It really is - but the good news is that when you figure out your root causes everything else gets better.

Cortisol is more destructive to bones and brain tissue than high blood sugar. Cortisol kicks in when blood sugar is low, so keep blood sugar stable. Eat carbs in every meal, and a little before bed like a small amount of raw honey to keep blood sugar up during the night. Sleep issues are often caused by low blood sugar because cortisol raises.

I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis at the age of 50. Now i am 53. I had Menounos at the age of 43. I was aware of anything about health. I didn't know about stress. But i had a stressful life. Doctor gave me prolia 3 times. Though i never want to live on any medication. I desperately want to exit from this drug. Now they want to give me zolendronic acid solution to stop prolia. I eat healthy, do exercise. Please advise me how can I do it.
