I agree with your takes on the improvements new gen have made. I've been able to fit Monster Hunter into my busy adult life thanks to the new gen changes, whereas the older gens I played when I was a kid would be too demanding to receive as much attention from me now.

incase you didnt know, you can fill up the valor gauge faster if you valor sheath then do an attack with the X button repeat this until you get into valor state

Ahhh, I disovered that you could do that attack but assumed it was just an animation cancel and didnt serve any other purpose. Thanks for the advice!

Glad to see you continuing MHGU, it was very impressive to see you using the guard point of valor LS so early on, one tip that might help you out is making an item set at your box, its an easy way to restock potions and whetstones quickly while depositing anything you might have scrounged during your quest. Something else you might find interesting is the maps you explored are the "starter" locations from the other previous titles Jurassic Frontier: MH Generations Arctic Ridge: MH Freedom Unite Deserted Island: MH Tri Misty Peaks: MH Portable 3rd

Yes I've set up my item sets which does save a LOT of time! And that's really cool with the locations, it must be really nostalgic for veteran players, I'm kinda jealous lol

I'm with you in this man. Just started GU this week! On 6 star village and I have to say, you gotta do the village chief quests early. Don't be like me that had got roadblocked at 5 stars

I've taken a little break to be honest (world has stolen all my attention once again haha), thinking of maybe progressing further in my own time and reaching some more interesting content for my net upload? I don't want to rush the game but I'm dropping everything in my life when Wilds comes out so IDK :)

Yeah i totally hit the issue of not having enough storage soace because i never did single player. Had to grind through that to go back to multiplayer lol

I personally see it differently. Having an item be on the map (Whetstones in Old and Cool Shrooms/Hot Peppers for drinks in World) that the player needs doesn't devalue the item at all. It's a gameplay curtesy from the developers. Players make mistakes all the time and the devs accounted for it. Accommodating for small player error is Fantastic game design. The QOL updates from 5th gen are very good, but they did go too far in Rise.

This, more or less. Also, a 'properly prepared hunter' shouldn't need to scrounge around for whetstones to begin with. 20 is a lot of sharpness. If you're burning through all that without getting your target, it's a sign you need to upgrade your weapon, not find more rocks. The drinks being on the map in World just meant that I never had to plan ahead and bring them, just grab them from preset spawns and drink liquified mushroom / chilies. I get not liking the tedium of gathering things, though. I do kind of wish they had leaned into the side production more, rather than just talking to your farm/trade manager. (Having to discard a used whetstone makes as much sense as using one to tune your hunting horn.)

i saw the fist one but now i'm interested i will give you a lil tip PAUSE use valor attack sheath then do an attack this will fill up your gauge faster / more by a hard hitting attack

whetstones changing is good in MHW. The player just ends up buying a stack of 99 anyway

1:40 how I feel about all of the monsters with this skeleton in MHGU(Plesioth,Lavasioth) just worthless annoying wastes of time with no skill required whatsoever, worst is plesioth is even a key quest so yeah
