The 2024 Virtual Tevis Cup Endurance Challenge!

Here in Germany we have such a quest every year. It can take you the whole year, but you have to track your rides. When you finished 160 km the official part is over, but you can go on tracking your rides. By the end of the year all the km's are counted and then you get a certificate about all the km's you rode. And in 2020 when no endurance ride could be ridden there was Plan D that meant we had to ride 160 km within 8 weeks. It was fun, because that was some kind of challenge beside all that trouble and limitations we had because of Covid.

I rode a few 50 mile endurance rides in Northern California back in the late 90's. A work colleague owned Arabians and let me train and ride with her. Experience of a lifetime!

Many years ago my friend Hope and I rode over 30 miles in one day around Potomac, Maryland on a pair of horses we exercised for their owners. I wasn’t used to that kind of distance - the horses, in their twenties and thirties - were fine. I was exhausted! Congratulations on a beautiful ride on your handsome boy!

Gotta love a gaited breed on trail rides… my ride was a TWH named Tyke… had him since he was 12 and sadly he passed over last year at the age of 30… I love to vicariously watch you and your rides/videos… thank you ❤

Amazing scenery. When I come back for another life, I want to live in such a beautiful place. I used to ride my Exmoor mare bitless and barefoot, but bareback was a definite no. She was wide, low wither, huge trot and ‘spicy’. A comfy treeless saddle was perfect for us. Such a cute pair of ears ❤

You asked the length of distance can not say but I did a 5 day ride in the snowy mountains of Australia, to see wild brumbies. How far is not truly relevant but it has changed my perspective on all things in life and has left me a calmer wiser person. This would not have happened if was not for being on horseback.

@@DiscoverTheHorse I hope you focus on the stamina and ground covering ability of them. There's several that do endurance. I think a lot of folks assume all Pasos do the Fino gait and aren't a practical breed for trail and pleasure riding. So I hope you blow that myth out of the water. It would be interesting to see the historical background of them in Puerto Rico and Columbia (and how they differ), vs the North American Paso.
