Great stuff again! Clear and concise camera work and commentary. Have a look on eBay for silicone covers for your nuts 😐. Not a fix but tidies things up a bit

Thanks neale I have a solution for the nuts. There will be a short video on them once I get it sorted 👍

Why do you put grease inside? I haven't seen anyone else doing that in other videos about changing flanges.
@TheNorthernExplorer2 жыл бұрын
Hi kuba, it was mainly because the bearings hadn’t been changed in quite a while so I thought some fresh grease would help the bearings until i got round to changing them. (This was filmed before the wheel bearing swap videos)

@@TheNorthernExplorer ahhhh ok I thought that was just an 'official' step of fixing it. Thank you, that clarifies everything :) great work!

just got my truck back from the garage they put hd axles and flanges on the back and used some horrible looking silicone as a gasket on the flanges and charged me a small fortune will do it myself from now on
@TheNorthernExplorer3 ай бұрын
That’s the reason I do it myself, most places I’ve been have done a poor job. Have a go yourself and if you ever break down you can fix it yourself 👍

Where abouts do the shimes go and does the bigger one go in first
@TheNorthernExplorer2 жыл бұрын
The shims go on the end of the driveshaft between the flange and the circlip to prevent the shaft moving in and out. I’d say bigger first

mayhaps i missed it, but did you refit the shims and circlip? Nice upgrade. Cheers for sharing.

Thank you, yes the shims and circlip go back on the same way they come off

That rubber oring had me stumped…on flange or in cap….cheers
@TheNorthernExplorer2 жыл бұрын
I’ll be honest I’m not too sure either! On the flange it tends to twist the o ring when tightening so I put it in the cap

@@TheNorthernExplorer ….I binned both of them and used a smear of rtv sealant……..I’ve used that on maxi drive flanges when I’ve lost the o ring….no issues coming of or “not’’ coming off……haven’t leaked on my rear left yet
