A true "c'mon man" if there ever was one. Ranch owner happens upon a cross carved rock, sees something right away and finds a piece of gold. Probably was close to being cancelled by the network and needed to hook the fish again.

Tunnels, voids, and caverns can be dowsed with the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod. It eliminates wrong guesses.

That was a piece of igneous float, not melted metal, although it is full of iron. Take it to BYU or Utah State University for having it identified. In sandstone, iron in the sandstone can concentrate with pressure squeezing the concentration of iron into igneous looking rocks. Or it could be igneous brought from the north by all of the glaciers that came through the area.

Dowsing with the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod will reveal voids that magnetomitors cannot reach, and there is no such thing as a negative that was called "false positives". Without dowsing, guessing is all that can be done, with the guesses usually being wrong. That was not a carved cross, somebody is just putting things where they want them to be, with looking for anything that is just a natural coincidence, with calling the natural coincidence actual evidence. I see most treasure hunters doing the same thing, and that is what separates me from them with myself actually being A TREASURE FINDER. Go figure !
