Yea they were probably too high, it's an indie studio doing a $30 port of a massive and intensive game, given that asgards wrath 2 is actually terrible and got good reviews it's kinda baffling the dogpile everyone is forming over this game.

Soo...this is basically the pcvr version with left hand weapons added but with more jank? Glad to hear someone likes floating hands as opposed to the arms haha

Exactly what I've been saying. It's just a PCVR port with a left hand. She did say that the interactions with people was less janky, but I just watched 20 minutes of someone else play and he literally couldn't strangle people at all without them going all janky and flopping around, it actually looked worse than the PCVR/PSVR version, surprinsgly enough. Of the 4 people he tried strangling, he managed to get it to work once, 2 others he had to resort to punching, and one glitched so bad it required a re-load. So I'm not sure if it really is better, maybe she just got lucky.

@@joshgiesbrecht Looks that way, im yet to play either version myself, but i have a 7900xtx so maybe just playing the already available pcvr version will be the way to go? Shame because i don't mind the downgraded quest visuals, im not a graphics guy, but i was expecting a more vr like experience, to me the pc version seems better because it has more content, everything else is the same other than left hand shooting.

Hitman 3 VR was ALREADY good. It was made for a tracked gamepad, and when you play it on a tracked gamepad, its awesome.

Thanks, @Snaphoo... I'd never considered that. I mean, I hate that IO and Sony couldn't be bothered with finding a way to, for instance, let us see ourselves (as Agent 47) in the mirror, and I found the arms completely distracting, but I'll give using a proper controller a try, and see if playing it that way is less frustrating.

2:50 no that's 100% valid. Cel shading is no excuse, we've seen better cel shading in standalone Meta Quest games.

Because if they say there's a day 4 patch that will "make everything better", it has a chance to influence people not to refund the game immediately, and even play some more while waiting for the patch. At which point, they can no longer refund it. I don't think the patch will fix much, it's just giving day 1 adopters more hope so that they hold off refunding immediately. There is no fixing this dumsterfire in 4 days. Unless they accidentally released the completely wrong build, which as unlikely as that is, I'm almost convinced of as I cannot understand how they flubbed it this badly otherwise.

Good review. I reviewed this on my site and was so let down. Whether it's the visuals, the technical issues, the lack of immersive controls and content. It's just a mess. I kept my expectations low but was let down

@@DiscoVRTetiana I suppose we should have known after they said it took them a year just to get a chandelier working in the engine. It seems like the development time was mainly trying to get the PSVR version transferred to their engine, with little time for anything else. I hope it can be fixed, but I think this may have killed Hitman in VR.

Excellent review! Instead of giving this game a pass u hit on all the main problems. The devs need to put out a “best” product, not some game they can patch at a later date. We pay good money to enjoy a game. I’ll pass for now

Thanks for the wonderful review! I will wait for it to see how they fix the game to actually buy it. The graphics and other glitches are a big turn off for me. Not to mention, the point about day 4 patch and not actually Day 1 even if it means getting delayed by a bit, considering the first impression of the game is so important.

The wheel spinning above their head is the "knocked out" indicator. It's not a loading icon, that's why it never stopped spinning. If you weren't able to get their disguise or drag their body, that's just a straight up bug. Has nothing to do with it loading. Good review otherwise. I appreciate the honesty.

I find that Hitman VR Reloaded does not meet my expectations, and I am considering giving my 14-year-old the Quest 3 instead. It's surprising to see Meta's involvement in a game that seems to fall short. It raises concerns about the current state of virtual reality.

I was affraid this would happen. From the first images I saw from the game I know it right away. It's a shame. The pcvr old one maybe buggy and wonky but it's immersive and beautiful. This is just a bug nope for me

Nope, they were most definitely eliminated. One time the spinning wheel did disappear and I could steal the clothes, but the other time it never stopped spinning and no interactions were available. I’m pretty sure I tried holding as well. Maybe they fixed it already ahead of today’s release

Not built from the ground up.. just the psvr version with downgraded graphics. The pop in and bugs are all there. I hope they can fix the issues, but I'm not confident.

I didn't even know this title was announced, never mind released. So disappointed that this is STILL not a true VR game. Have the developers even played a VR title? It seems like they're at least half a decade out of date. While I don't mind the graphics, it is a HUGE downgrade, and a smaller map, or linear levels would've been preferred..

@@DiscoVRTetiana The art style can portray so much. You can have 8K@240hz, with nice ray tracing, but if the actual art style is not working for what you're trying to show, it can all fall apart. Imagine if... Borderlands had the art style of a Call of Duty, it would look so generic, and I don't think it would have the audience it does. Hitman is meant to be more on the realistic side. The tone is a complete mismatch. It's one aspect of design that's easily overlooked, and it's so important.

Not the worst... PCVR was WAY worse... but the small improvements are not enough :( Hitman 3 on Quest deserved better

Nice review, thanks! This looks much better than my experience on the PS4 PSVR1 Hitman 3 game, which struggled on the PS4, with heavy pop-in of objects and difficulty aiming without major drifting while aiming. Glad to hear they redid the VR aspects.

XR is going to learn real quick it's a Terrible time to try & screw over us gamers, we've had enough & the current rate of studios closing is proof of that. we will no longer accept cash grab titles. this cash for trash corporate tactic is over! Realistically you could expect something on PS4 VR1-Visuallevel.............and it was pretty good back than on last gen VR1. But this is a weird and uggly attempt of a port. Same amount of VRAM, Quest 3 should outperform basic PS4 a bit....what happened?

Yep i played resident evil 2,3,7 and village with prahdog vr mods on pcvr. I don't want to wait for quest 9 bahahaha. They were briljant games in vr bytheway.
