This was extremely helpful. I wish I had watched this before doing my own installation. The manual does not indicate which end of the drain hose is which. The manual doesn't tell you to leave the front lowered. I had to figure that one out through trial and error. The manual makes it appear that you have to break off the mounting tabs before installation. Turns out that is only if you're putting the brackets on the side. Several things are not clear in the manual. With our past dishwasher I ran the drain hose as shown on this video and this caused occasional problems with drain water draining back into the dishwasher. The fix was to run the drain hose through a hole just below the counter top so that there was a downward slope from the highest point (the hole I just mentioned) to the sink drain connection in the tailpiece. I'm not sure if that matters with this KitchenAid, but I did the same routing as I learned previously. A tip for any other people installing your own: get rid of your old dishwasher pieces before doing this install. I spent an hour trying to figure out how to install the toe plate until I realized it was the toe plate from my previous dishwasher. Duh!!!

Thank you for this video! My daughter and I were able to install our new Kitchenaid dishwasher with no problems. Took a little time and rewatching a couple parts a few times but it works and we saved an install fee and long wait to be able to use it.

So far, I've done everything correctly with my direct wire unit. Unable to make the connections with the unit on its back - I had to stand it up and make connections from the bottom due to drain, supply, and power lengths (but drain hose from the side was easy) - very little room to work underneath. I need to do a side mount with a granite countertop - wish you had shown that. Oddly enough our last washer used the same mount brackets on top to an under mount strip - this one will not do that. Also, my door handle model did not have the handle included inside the box - not happy about that. Great installation video.

Hey, thank you for this video. 'Lil ol' me installed my KitchenAid dishwasher all by myself with the help of this tutorial. Took a little while, but I got it. Much appreciated!

Thank you for the video. We noticed that new dishwashers are much lower to the ground than the one we had before. I guess it is due to the enlarged interior which accommodates the 3rd rack.

Great video. But it looks like the water supply connection under the washer is cross threaded

That electrical connection is going to be a pita as I have hard wire. I hope those screws are long enough to curl 12 gauge copper around them
