Even when Nancy won only the Silver medal, she was not appreciate of the public afterward, then disappeared for good a year later. I see the exact same issue here with Rachel, and the movie hasn't even released yet!

@@Halpin2006 Nancy Kerrigan had the entire world basically fawning over her before and during the leadup to and into the Olympics because of the attack she suffered, having her knee bashed with a crowbar (or tire iron I forget) by one of Tonya Harding's boyfriend's goon bodyguards... supposedly without Harding's knowledge. Tonya was one of the physically strongest skaters in the world, but came from "the wrong side of the tracks" and the low life boyfriend and his goon friends she associated with didn't help matters in a sport where appearance and perception is a big part of success. At any rate, Kerrigan had TONS of support and goodwill and went into the Olympics basically "assured" of winning the gold medal, or at least the perception she was a shoo-in, based on the meme built up around her situation as the "ultimate comeback story"... In the end all this worked against her and made her overconfident... Kerrigan went into the Olympics and skated well but not particularly outstandingly... apparently she "believed her own press" and they hype built up around her that she was a "shoo-in" for the gold because of the hype surrounding the entire saga of her attack. But a young skater who'd come out of nowhere, Oksana Baiul, a poor kid from Ukraine, would end up upstaging her... during a practice another skater collided with Baiul and her skate sliced into Baiul's ankle, requiring stitches. Adding to the already overhyped and closely watched dramatics of the lead up to the Olympics because of the Kerrigan attack, the media started playing off the Baiul story and when Oksana came back and skated a nearly perfect routine in the competition on an injured ankle from the day or so before, it ended up completely upstaging the competent but lackluster performance of Kerrigan skating on her knee that had been injured MONTHS before and had plenty of time to heal. Oksana Baiul was the ultimate "comeback kid" and ended up racing to the forefront in the public imagination and the attention of the judges and ended up winning the gold, edging out Kerrigan who got bumped back to silver. Harding performed at the Olympics and cracked, at one point tearfully pleading with the judges for another chance blaming her poor performance on a busted skate lacing... she was done for. What REALLY turned the public against Kerrigan was her poor sportsmanship and entitled attitude after the Olympics... it was clear for all to see she was full of sour grapes... her attitude telegraphed that to everyone from the medal ceremony onwards. She had "eaten up" the hype around her and became convinced she was entitled to the gold at the Olympics and her winning was foreordained as 'skating royalty' with her compelling story of coming back from a nearly career-ending injury inflicted on her by the low life associates of a jealous rival skater... Only to be upstaged at the last moment by an unknown poor kid from Ukraine injured in a practice coming from behind to beat her with a near perfect performance on an injured ankle. The final straw was a disastrous PR tour that had already been arranged before the Olympics even happened, where Kerrigan had contracted to a PR tour after the Olympics culminating in a parade at Disneyworld/land... her "triumphant PR tour" arranged when she was the "golden child" and virtually assured in everyone's mind that winning the gold was basically just a formality at that point, the luster was taken off her triumph tour when she only got the silver medal.... and she acted like a spoiled brat while she was being feted around the country because she felt "cheated" out of the gold at the last second. Her poor attitude and obvious spoiled brat antics immediately soured the public perception of Kerrigan and turned them against her, and destroyed her carefully crafted public image as 'the all-American girl hero, coming back from a savage attack to perform and "win" at the Olympics"... she exposed herself as another rich entitled brat being a sourpuss because she'd come up short. Kerrigan retired from skating and married rich (she was already rich and her Olympic deals made her richer) and disappeared from the limelight... Winning the gold was as destructive for Oksana Baiul as losing it had been for Kerrigan. Now thrust into the limelight as the ultimate 'comeback kid" and crowned new skating royalty from out of nowhere as a star struck young kid barely 14 years old IIRC... she suddenly found herself having "arrived" and offered massive deals and amounts of money and new skating venues, world class coaches interested in her, etc. Success went to her head and the new "golden child" wasn't prepared for it and couldn't handle it. The heir apparent and at her young age, presumed future ruling 'queen of skating' for years to come basically crashed and burned in only a couple of years or so-- IIRC a drunk driving incident and her obvious heavy drinking and other problems plagued her and damaged her performance and her image, and by the next Olympics which was supposed to cement her place as the uncontested master of women's skating ultimately didn't come off and she turned into a washed up has-been-- success and fame came too early and too fast, and her star had burned brightly for a moment and burned out, and Baiul was gone as quickly as she had appeared. Harding too was gone, the public soured by her antics and reputation, and ended up as part of a former celebrity host cadre on a funny video B-string show...

They wanted to be respectful to their community, by Excluding them, completely. 🤔🤨I’m not sure what the correct terminology is, and I mean No disrespect, but dwarfs aren’t represented in Hollywood enough. NGL, this whole thing is very amusing, because Disney put this on themselves. Edit: It’s incredible to how the original Snow White movie is what started Disney’s success, with this live action version being the one that’s causing the downfall. That classic movie was able to charm Mr Jokerman, let alone many other generations of people going forward. The problem with DEI at Disney is less about the actors on the screen, but with the reduction in skills and abilities of there writers, production, directors, animators, press relations, and just about everything else. They’ve replaced merit with quotas. Unless they dismantle DEI, and purge all those in Disney that brought it about and administer to it, they will be unable to right the ship. Well... she herself has two of those four traits; fearless, and brave. Alas, she completely lacks the fair, and true traits she listed. So, how is she supposed to portray a fair character, when she can't comprehend it. And how can she portray a true character, when she can't help but be false. You know what other role fits someone who is fearless and brave? Villain. Selfish? Villain. Gets very hostile when anyone disagrees with her? Villain. Thinks she is better than those around her? Villain. Honestly... if her version of Snow White did become the ruler of the kingdom, the lives of the civilians would pretty much remain the same. All working to feed her ego. She'll probably even take up asking the mirror who is prettier than her... and then hunting that one down.

Isn’t the point of Snow White is that to be the most fairest of them all, you must be beautiful in the inside as well as the out? (Remember that beautiful apple?) The queen wasn’t unattractive in the cartoon-on the outside. Not judging by appearance, or size but judging on the content of someone’s character? Rachel has shown with her comments after the election, and nearly all of her comments on the press tour, that she feels that this premise is old fashioned, right-winged, dated and should be derided. That’s why this movie isn’t working.
