Disney's Monorail Crawl - Holiday GINGERBREAD Edition! Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian

Join me as we visit Walt Disney World's Monorail Resorts to see their amazing gingerbread displays - like the Grand Floridian lifesize gingerbread house, and The Contemporary Resort's brand new 50th anniversary themed gingerbread house, with Cinderella Castle, It's a Small World and Mary Blair style, including hidden 5-legged goats, and Disney's Polynesian Resort's Christmas tree and holiday island decor! Along the way, we see the construction going on at the Polynesian resort and have to take an unexpectedly long walk to detour around it, see lots of beautiful sights and also holiday crowd levels at all 3 monorail resorts and on the monorail itself, and of course have a GINGERBREAD SHOWDOWN, where I try and compare the different gingerbreads to see which is my favorite! I also have a little personal chat at the end of this video and talk about the exciting thing we'll be doing this week that I'm so excited to share with you soon!!!

The decorations always look incredible. So for the bees part, it's wood that's given to them. When the gingerbread is removed, there are wooden structures beneath. The gingerbread is not exactly fresh, so it’s composted. This leaves _bee-hind_ lots of sugar-covered wood. The CMs then break down the wooden structures and then _buzz_ to the WDW tree farm where it is collected and fed to the bees. With the bee populations declining around the world, Disney has made it a mission to provide pollinators with even more habitat and resources through pollinator-friendly gardens located across property.

Real shame they opted not to bring back Spirit of Aloha. It was basically Enchanted Tiki Room on steroids, and it was perfect. Also a shame the orchestra hasn't returned to the GF lobby. Music is a powerful thing, and the orchestra is just as important to the GF lobby's atmosphere as the pianist. I know you said you wished you took the monorail instead over to GF from Poly but it's nice to go for a walk for a change, especially if it's nice out! Take advantage of the weather before it gets cold! Disney is committed to conservation and caring for the environment, so it makes sense they'd care about the bees and just feed the display pieces to them when they're done with it.

The absolute BEST gingerbread cookie is sold in Starbucks at Hollywood Studios. It taste like the Disneyland Jolly Holiday Mickey Gingerbread Man soooo good! You have to try it 😅😍

We did this exact same thing on Saturday. I recommend the whoopie pie at the Grand Floridian. I personally liked it better than the gingerbread shingle. Give it a try next time! Thanks for sharing.

Always love your videos, Jackie. We were just at Disney for the Halloween party in late October. Stayed at Wilderness Lodge. Have tentative reservations there again for late October (Halloween party) as well as the second week of December (Christmas party). Maybe we'll see you around. We've yet to see any of the vloggers at any of the four parks or hotels. By the way, on the 12 Days of Christmas song it's "5 golden rings" vs. "5 gold rings".

Great video. We were there yesterday evening but took monorail everywhere. We dined at chef Mickey’s Oh gosh..when you said you were going to walk over to the Grand, I was saying oooh nooo turn back lol. My husband and I did it a couple weeks ago not knowing how it was bc of the construction. At night it’s a lil dangerous. Hoping they make it more pedestrian friendly soon. Take care 🤗

Hahahaa yes I didn’t realize what I was getting into and that the entire walkway was closed!! I wouldn’t want to do that at night either, it’s not easy to cross that street, there are SO many cars and they don’t stop!!

Loved the Gingerbread Showdown, so much fun! Here’s a question, do any places in the resorts have Peppermint Stick Ice Cream? I always love it for the holidays, just wondering if it’s available anywhere in the resorts? Also, Jackie, have you tried any? Love going to the Resorts for the holidays. QUESTION: Do you have to pay to park at the Beach Club to see the carousel? In the past we have taken the bus from Disney Springs to each of the Resorts, but last year that was such a mess. But, I really want to see it this year. Any suggestions?

At least you got your steps in! 😂There are pros and cons to staying on property at WDW, but it has to be said that the holidays bring more pros to the resorts than cons. Theming and decor at the Magic Kingdom area resorts, in particular, are unmatched! We always seem to just barely miss the gingerbread house at the Grand Flo, so we’re always thankful for the vloggers that venture out and bring the experience and the vibe into our homes ☺️ Quite a lot of flour and honey goes into that masterpiece! Same for the other houses about the properties, although we’re not as big on dark chocolate as some 👀 Love how the Contemporary is steering into the skid with the five-legged goat merch. Great video, as usual! Thanks for sharing!

I don't know if you can still get to the outside viewing roof from the top floor restaurant (lounge side) without a dinner reservation. We used to get a dessert and/or coffee or hot chocolate in lounge (w/kids and driving home) but can see fireworks and a little of parade at Magic Kingdom from there.. 20th floor. You can see out big windows of course but it was just more fun outside.

Totally - I usually explain it in every one of these vids but I didn’t want to be repetitive bc I explained it in the fort wilderness vid and another lol! You can take a bus from Disney Springs, or for these specifically, what I usually do is park at TTC and hop right on the resort monorail!

Disney has some of the best Christmas decorations in the world! Jackie, you and Sam should go to Pigeon Forge Tennessee in November or December the Christmas decorations there are beautiful also I just spent the weekend in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg everything was decorated for Christmas beautifully!

I think I've done the monorail thing....not sure if I made all the stops or not....I was with a friend and she was my guide...plus I had been sick the whole night before from some very greasy Mideval Times chicken....and as a klutz I also managed to injure myself tripping over a curb at Old Town.....so I can't remember exactly what we did or in what order except we started with breakfast at Ohana and went from there....Grand Floridian......Contemporary.....Epcot....those places I remember
