I work in aerial firefighting. This movie made me seen and appreciated. This job is actually super hard and you go from hotel to hotel all season long working your butt off for people who randomly corner you and either yell in your face about fires being bad or won't let you just enjoy your breakfast that's actually dinner because you worked all night fixing the bird. Sometimes the pilots get it even worse and they absolutely deserve the recognition.
@bastianbraar7093Ай бұрын
It’s sad to say, but pilots don’t get the recognition they deserve. I think all of you are amazing. I have a friend who works in Wildland Firefighting, and he once told me about a time when the wind shifted, and the fire got dangerously close to them. They needed a drop right on top of their location, and the pilot came through. He told me that if it weren’t for that drop, he probably wouldn’t be here today. I’m truly thankful for what you all do, and you deserve much more recognition. (Keep in mind that he did simplify it for me as a non-firefighter.

Planes Fire & Rescue is one of the most realistic movies produced in the cars universe. It brings a real look at the real dangers we don't see in fire. It gives a look at how we look at things in society today. The common people don't give two craps about much. It's heroes like our firefighters that are the only ones that truly understand whats at stake and this movie gives a perfect look at that.

You make some very points about this film's ending. The ending seemed fine to me when I first watched it as a kid, but watching it again as an adult, it is clear that they tried too hard to wrap everything up with a tidy bow. I agree that it would have been better if they gave Dusty a different gearbox that doesn't work as well, or if he received the custom rebuild gearbox but decided to give up racing and remain as a firefighter. Still, the fact that this film is an improvement over the first film is impressive. 😊

I'm sorry, but all this weird talk about "propaganda" kinda ruined this review for me. It feels like your overlapping movies with a different fault just because it has a similar thematic. I'm no pilot/sentient plane, but I think physics wise the waterfall refill is likely gonna get Dusty killed in real life, it'd be a mixture of his flight angle which is directly upwards resulting in extreme drag, the water filling his tanks adding weight and also causing his weight to shift backwards even more while also slowing him down due to him having to partially dip his tanks to refill them, and also water potentially entering his intake because not all water falls equally or something...? Top all of that with pushing an already damaged gearbox to its limit while under these conditions. Yeah don't try this at home

Its not propaganda if its true. The firefighting in this movie is spot on , the whole forest on fire is also accurate when big parks catch fire it easily can create a wall of fire exactly like that where all you can see around you is fire. At the core of this movie it takes firefighting, and why firefighters do what they do as and the risks and sacrifices made by firefighters in pursuit of there jobs and not everyone returns home, but presents it in a way where most audiences can understand and is presented in a less confronting way. As Blade said "Life doesn't always go the way you expect it, but you came here to become a firefighter. If you give up today, think of all the lives you won't save tomorrow. So what are you going to do?'"

The joke is that the AT-802 "air-tractor" (the plane the MC based of) does have a firefighting variant with the same (wheeled) pontoons, and the paintjob he has at the end is almost identical to an existing one. There is a military (COIN/CAS plane) version of the 802 called the OA-1K, with weapons (10 hardpoints in total) and everything so .... there's your prequel chance.

24:10 What's really crazy is this is EXACTLY what Dolly Parton did during the Gatlinburg (Chimney Tops) Wildfire. She paid off the city of Pigeon Forge to protect her property, Dollywood. She also hired outside help to essentially stand around, hoses at the ready, wasting valuable water. She took resources away from where it was needed and people died and were injured because of it. I was on the front lines of that unfortunate event. I'm actually kinda glad I don't live there anymore. Pigeon Forge is super corrupt. Dollywood was fine in the end while nearly everything around it burned to the ground with little exception.

Dolly Parton doesn't own Dollywood. It's a licensing deal.

One think I actually kinda respect about this film is how it doesn't sugar coat the reality of being a fire fighter and shows just how dangerous it actually is. From the pictures of the planes who lost their lives, to seeing the damage Blade had received from the fire when he was protecting Dusty (we even get a close up of his paint bubbling up from the sheer heat), the fact that a Planes sequel actually has the guts to show the reality of being a firefighter is not what I was expecting

The goal of the villains in Cars 2 was to become powerful enough to be able to afford parts to keep running. It has been mentioned before. 10:30 I think that's a deer. 🦌 That would make more sense since it's in a National Part forest and it resembles vehicles from the John Deere company.

That doesn't track, all of the Lemons in Cars 2 are literally mob bosses and run multi million dollar industries they can literally afford armies of Goons, control multiple oil rings in the ocean, and are bale to rent and live in grand hotels and buildings Lord Axel rod the leader of the lemons is literally an ultra rich oil owner They all have money and lots of it, they aren’t hurting for money they just hate the fact they’re considered outdated and low tech

Watched this movie for the first time since it came out in 2014 the other day and I gotta say I'm really impressed with how well researched this movies feels. I wish I knew someone who had this movie on DVD because I would see a special feature where we see the team shows it's research process, how they applied this information to the cars world. There's just this underlying feeling of respect and admiration for the wildland firefighters career field which I really love and didn't really appreciate as a kid.

Pulaski. Its an axe with an adze on the other side of the head. Its used for wildland firefighting since it gives you an axe to chop stuff, and a adze to dig with. Think A Maddock, but with a full on axe head.

If anything that’s why I like this one way more than the first. This one tried to do something different as opposed to the first with a main focus on racing like the Cars franchise. I like that this one did its own thing and succeeded. I wouldn’t call this movie great or anything. I definitely think Cars 1 and 3 are the best of the franchise. I think this is better than the first Planes and objectively better than Cars 2 despite me having lots of fun watching it. A way better movie than it gets credit for.

This movie has a special place for my family. My grandfather was a Fire Chief, and thus, firefighting is something we respect greatly. Seeing it repped so well, and also seeing it portrayed not only as noble, but also as completely BADASS, was sooo good. Also “Still I Fly” is a god-tier piece of music and we listen to it every road trip. It’s awesome. You can’t change my mind.

It must be said that a liver is a digestive organ, so describing Dusty's gearbox as a liver is foolish and uneducated. Therefore, his gearbox would be better suited as a bicep.

Well, this movie certainly got a lot of things right about the fire service: We can't afford anything, and use outdated equipment Our bases/stations are held together by Duct tape and bailing wire. It's (surprisingly) hard to get recruits, and small communities with volunteer departments are struggling, and mostly staffed by aging members. You only hear about the big fires and disasters. and selfish politicians and some property owners make our jobs harder by completely disregarding common sense. Always great working with the "flyboys" on wildland fires, see yall on the big one!

I actually loved this movie as a kid, the first one I didn’t really care much about, but I had a DVD version of the second one and I couldn’t stop rewatching it every day. I loved the thunderstruck scene despite not even knowing what AC DC was at the time, so when I heard the song again in the wild it brought me back some memories.

Being a firefighter must be one of the most heroic jobs ever. You literally jump into a fire to save souls that are in there. How could it be propaganda, we should even make these more often. Just because it has the sense of doing it for the better of the others. That doesnt correlate to propaganda. Im more tired with the absolute barbages about individualism
@yeoldeseawitch7 ай бұрын
propaganda just means promoting something without recognizing the downsides to it. being a firefighter takes a toll on yourself and some people are not mentally prepared to do a job as demanding as that.
@vinhhoangkhai83297 ай бұрын
@@yeoldeseawitch But still if all you ever see are videos about influencers and their easy lavish life. Additionally, that is all you are going to get in these age of social media then who else would do the hard job or the job that builds and contribute to the foundation of society. I had been a firefighter in my younger days, the mental toll you are talking about is just responsibility. You will fear fire but you are the only one that can save others. I understand not everyone is eligible for the job, but fear can be extinguish during the training if you have enough determination
