So much of what's bad in this movie is intentional that that's why I love it so much. The fact that the characters in the beach movie are played by adults, is riffing on how musicals back in the sixties or set in the sixties always casted full grown adults to play their characters. Like ever look at the movie Grease? There are literal thirty year olds cast as high school seniors. Bad green screen, literally works for the aesthetic of the movie they were in. Corny or bad dialogue? Exactly what publicly bad sixties beach movie would sound like. It's why I will always love this movie so much. The sequel just loses that magic touch.

LOVE this movie! My favorite DCOM for sure! All of the characters are so iconicly hilarious and the plot points are both wacky enough to keep kids interested, but not too outlandish that parents will dislike it. Even now that I'm an adult, my family and I will bring this movie with us on vacation and sing the songs in the car! I'm so glad you watched this and at least mildly enjoyed it! Teen Beach is not for everyone, but I'm glad you gave it a try!
