Disney World's Art Of Animation Resort | Hotel Grounds Walking Tour, Pools & Food Locations!

In today's video we take a look around Disney's Art of Animation Resort. We show you all of the themeing and decorations throughout the resort that make it one of the best themed resorts at Walt Disney World. We take a look at the main lobby which is decorated with all of the different phases of the animation process. We also got to see the quick service restaurant, Landscape of Flavors, where we tried one of the hamburgers, it was delicious. We also showed off each section of the resort and all 3 of its pools. It is a fantastic resort and probably our favorite value resort we have visited. Stay tuned tomorrow for a new video.

The Little Mermaid area is TECHNICALLY older than the rest of AoA. The Legendary Years were supposed to be more or less identical to the buildings across the lake and what are now the Little Mermaid rooms were further along when they stopped construction. When construction restarted, they kept the outside facing rooms in the Little Mermaid area as is, but the rest of the building were early enough in construction that they could do whatever they wanted with the layouts. As such, the Nemo section, Lion King Section, and Cars sections all have family suites (two bathrooms, kitchenette, Murphy bed, master bedroom, pull out couch). Nice spacious rooms for up to 6 adults each. Ultimately, all four sections opened at the same time.

I went this past Spring for my spring break. I loved it there, stayed in the Nemo suite. It comfortably fit my family of five (my 2 parents, my self and 2 sisters), with one of my sisters and I being college age, and the youngest being 13. it was a great hotel even though we seemed a little older for it. The rooms had the best theming I have ever seen. The food was fantastic in Landscape of Flavor, we pretty much ate their each night after going to the parks, and there was always something else we wanted to try. I would go back for the Surf and Surf burger alone! This video made me want to go back again so badly.

Fun Fact if you didn't know the Little Mermaid area is different because it was one of the buildings that was abandoned from the legendary years from Pop. When they started building it. They had some building done already so they kept them making them their "standard rooms" rather than redo them they recycled. The other ones are newer.

I love Art Of Animation resort. There is an easteregg to Philmor's license plate.....its George Carlin's birth date. Also the lobby and Little Mermaid areas were original before 2001. That's why they are rooms and not suites like the other sections.

A group of us went to Disney World this past February and we stayed in one of the Cars Family suites. If you liked the theming outside, you'll love it inside of the rooms. The lamps are all traffic cones, the dressers are tool boxes, the countertops are work benches, and the 2 bathrooms are carwashes. There's a full bedrooms that's kind of themed as an old motel. The living room couch looks like the backseat of a car that folds out to a bed and the kitchen table is themed as a huge map of Route 66 that turns into a Murphy bed. The food at Landscapes of Flavors is really good. We had 3 meals there during our stay. I had the "make your own pasta" the first day we were there for lunch and it was amazing (I had Bowtie Pasta with Pesto, Shrimp, Peas, Spinach, and Jalapenos). I had the Surf and Surf Burger for the next meal there; a crab cake sandwich topped with fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato, and a spicy tartar sauce. And the morning that we checked out, I had the Brunch Burger; a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg and hashbrowns. I highly recommend all of these meals. The Drop Off pool bar had a couple of great signature cocktails as well, the Apple Mule and the Blackberry Lemonades were fantastic. I have stayed on property many times between Caribbean Beach, All Star Movies, and All Star Music and can honestly say that Art of Animation was my favorite resort so far.

You’re right Tim!! The reason the little mermaid section has so much more theming on the outside is because that section is all regular hotel rooms. The lion king, cars, and finding Nemo sections are all suite style rooms!!! We stayed there in 2014 and the lion king suites are super cool!!! And they are huge!! Also! The big blue pool has another super cool feature that you’d only know if you swam in it! It has underwater speakers and plays music underwater while you’re swimming!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Art of Animation for our Honeymoon. We were supposed to stay in the Little Mermaid Room but when a Cast Member found out it was our Honeymoon, they upgraded us to the Cars family suit. Both of us really loved it. Wife says the theme was kinda all of our childhood movies we loved as a kid mixed into one location.

The art of animation has been the hotel we've stayed at whenever we've gone to Disney World and it's fantastic! We've stayed in the nemo and lion king suite and the atmosphere is incredible and very kid friendly. The nemo pool's also awesome cause the underwater speakers.

If I’m correct the reason for the change from the legendary years to art of animation was because the art of animation restraints on the Disney wounder and magic cruise ships got such great feed back that they decided to turn it into a resort.

Actually, its because the construction was halted after 9/11 and the legendary years's few buildings were abandoned for 10 years and at that point they were like eh, lets make it disney themed 😂 Just watch Bright Sun Films's video on the legendary years

The last 3 times I've been to Disney I've started at Art of Animation. I love it! The themeing is the best part. The family suites are huge, 3 bed and 2 full bathrooms.

I stayed here last in 2016 and in the area where those kids were watching tv in the front corner of the lobby there is usually an animator there for a few hours a day drawing the drawings that you can buy in the ink and paint shop! There’s a camera above the desk that projects what they’re drawing onto the screen. You can see the desk they use up against the wall for a moment at 1:21. You can even choose a drawing out of a big book that they have and pick two colors for the animator to use. I picked Stitch playing a ukulele and chose blue and brown. It’s the same price as the ones you can buy from the shop. I’m staying here again for a night on March 15th before heading to the Poly for the rest of the trip. Love this hotel - can’t wait to go back!

Disney needs to allow you to tape inside of a guest room when you do these tours. They can easily arrange that. If they know you well enough to warn you about selfies they can have a guest room available for you to film.

I stayed at Art of Animation this past June! I loved it. My parents and I stayed in the Little Mermaid Room (I'm 21 - we realized we should have splurged a little on a moderate resort but ya live and ya learn!) I did love Landscape of Flavors and the gift shop! The jumbo pizza slice, make your own pasta, and nutella gelato are SO GOOD.

We stayed in the Little Mermaid section. We liked it well enough and loved the food court but did not appreciate the long walk to the busses. That section is the furthest away. My grandson loved the cars section! Always enjoy your videos, thank you.

We've stayed here twice, getting a family suite both times in the Cars section. It was fantastic! Two separate rooms each with their own bathrooms and tvs. There is a kitchenette area with microwave, coffee maker, fridge and sink and they also supply cups, plates and utensils. There is a couch that folds out to a bed and the kitchen table makes into a bed also. Very roomy and at an affordable price! There was also a laundry area by the cozy cone pool. If you would've gone down the hallway there it would be to your left. And there are showers in the bathrooms there for use before and after the pool use.

I wish Disney would do a dog resort where people with dogs could all be together. Have it have Disney dogs as the theme. Have a groomer, pet boutique, dog daycare, veterinarian on-site, restaurants that allow dogs to be with their owners, dog walkers, dog pool, dog activities such as agility course, flyball, dock diving, costume contest, Meet & Greets for dogs to meet Disney characters for photo ops (look up videos of service dogs meeting Pluto for a real treat), etc. And yes, I know that three resorts allow dogs (I'm sure there are only certain rooms they can stay in), and I know about the boarding kennel on site. But, I think a resort specifically geared toward guests with dogs would be extremely popular. The pet business, particularly the dog business is booming and only growing stronger.

Our first stop on our Disney trip was this resort. My son (almost 2 and 1/2 years old), was in Cars heaven. He went up and met all the characters and we were able to get some adorable pictures. something cool about the lobby of this resort is that it is designed to be the beginning of your story. You will notice the cast members at the check in desks are in black and white, kind of like the sketches at the beginning, as you walk through you will hit their gift shop (I think something to do with paint) and the cast members there are dressed very colorfully. Like the story board in the beginning you'll see how the characters changed in both design and by adding color which is cool to see in itself, but they also play off of that as you go through the resort and begin your own story.

We stayed at AOA about three years ago in a Nemo suite. It had two baths, a master bedroom, a kitchenette, plenty of sleeping areas. I really liked it. It wasn't loud at all even though our room was close to the pool. The ride on the bus to the parks was a little longer than I cared for but not a huge deal. Definitely would stay there again.

I believe just a few buildings for Pop Century Legendary years were put up before being discontinued. Those buildings became the Ariel section of Art of Animation and that's why they look different and have lower room rates.

I loved the Art of Animation! We stayed in a Cars family suite and the theming was great! The space was good in the rooms and there was lots of fun stuff to do! We spent a good chunk of one afternoon just touring the resort and looking at all the characters. The food is great at the food court too! I believe the Big Blue Pool is the biggest of all Disney resorts (I could be wrong though...) and I think it's also the only Disney pool to have underwater speakers.

You say that you're not very good at impressions, but I think that if you tweaked your voice just a little, you could probably pull off pretty good Jim Henson or Kermit the Frog impressions. I've closed my eyes a couple of times while watching these videos (... .which sort of defeats the purpose of 'watching,' I know...) and occasionally hear Kermit coming out through your voice. :)
