Y’know, I can kinda see what the game was trying to do, at least? The minigames actually make sense in the context of the rides and it’s got a fully modeled Disneyland that’s been populated with characters to meet and interact with. The flaws are because the Kinect was a crap control device, not in the execution.

I agree I played this game and it was actually fun but I did it on the Xbox One without a Kinect and it worked way better than using the Kinect on the Xbox 360 The only problem I had was that it was very hard to get five stars on some of the mini games like the one with the rabbit on Splash Mountain
@bernardo-x5n10 ай бұрын
Theoretically the Xbox One Kinect is better than the 360 one, so I wonder how much better new games would work. They should have pushed forward the idea of the "Kinect as an accessory" so the technology would improve further. But instead by trying to bundle it with every Xbox One, plus filing that patent that covers using a Kinect to monitor if more than one person is watching a movie and charge more for the benefit of watching movies you bought with your friends and family, they killed any enthusiasm for the Xbox One Kinect before it even launched. Such a shame because it is theoretically way better than any Wii remote. Plus, maybe you could even combine it with a controller, think a game that is normally played using a controller, but stomping with your foot will trigger your super attack. So much potential wasted because the Xbox One wasn't supposed to be a video game console, it was supposed to be an all-online "entertainment unit"
@overlordpichu55777 ай бұрын
from what i understand it might not just be the kinects fault as a bad control device, though thats certainly a part of it. apparently a lot of the 'tech demo' games built to show off the power of the kinect [such as kinect play] actually have the kinects camera programmed to follow your movements [as in literally moving the camera around] which leads to better movement reading and overall improved responsiveness. The thing is though, pretty much every other kinect game [as i understand it] doesn't do that. instead in games like sonic freeriders or disneyland kinect the camera remains physically stationary, which wadda ya know leads to less responsive and poorer movement reading. so regardless of the technologies actual viability, a big hurdle for a lot of kinect games is the technology not even being properly utilized on the development end. again as i understand it.

Disney World has also slowly been going downhill in recent years, removing a lot of beloved attractions and replacing them with subpar crap. The Great Movie Ride in Hollywood Studios was one victim of this. EPCOT, the most unique park of all, has gotten the brunt of this. First the Maelstrom, an interesting ride about Norwegian folklore, was turned into a lame Frozen ride. Then the Reflections of Earth firework show, a beautiful masterpiece, was replaced with yet another crappy display of "let's shove our IPs everywhere". Modern Disney is slowly sucking the magic away from its parks.

is it just me, or is this the first time i've seen RT get sponsored? that was unexpected
@RTGame10 ай бұрын
I've done many a sponsor through the years! But I only very rarely do an integration like this. Most of my sponsors are 'I've been sponsored to play XYZ game'. Displates are something I genuinely really like and recommend to others, so when they approached for a formal sponsor I was happy to endorse them

Oh wow, B'rer Rabbit. Now that's a character I haven’t seen in ages (for obvious reasons). Fun fact: without B'rer Rabbit, Bugs Bunny wouldn’t exist. My parents had a book of Br'er Rabbit stories that I read a lot when I was little. I love them to this day. But I also acknowledge that they are incredibly problematic, and will not be seen again. (TLDR: the early B'rer Rabbit books essentially stole the stories from black slaves working in plantations. They were written in way that was meant to sound like a stereotypical 'black accent'. And this goes without saying, but of course the slaves didn’t earn a cent from the stories that were originally theirs being published. To add insult to injury, Disney's "Song of the South" adaptation makes a huge leap of logic by heavily implying slavery "wasn't such a bad thing" because slaves got to have fun telling the original stories to each other.)

6:42 ... that is Brer Rabbit ... why is that character in this game ?! Despite the fact this rabbit is from the 1800's, he's considered 'too racist and offensive' for modern audiences. Source: 'Stories from Uncle Remus' which is now owned by Disney.

This game was my childhood. Me and my brothers would play this for hours, we loved it. We never ended up finishing all the quests and things, but we always enjoyed every second. Also helped me memorized Disneyland, I'm never lost when I'm there, lol. (Although, it had the effect of making it hard for me to remember Disney World's Magic Kingdom layout, the other parks, fine, but I could never get a hang of Magic Kingdom.)

I don’t know why but I was 100% “RT” stood for “Rob Thomas.” This is my first time seeing one of your videos but I’ve watched others where you were a guest, maybe it was a joke someone made on one of those? Anyway, kind of disappointed this isn’t a vaguely Matchbox Twenty themed gaming channel.
