Hotel workers don’t want you to remake the bed a lot of the time they’d much more appreciate you to remove the sheets and put it in a visible corner as it makes there life easier.

This is true I used to work in a hotel. I don't know why she said make up the bed because they changed the sheets every time.

I do this every time I stay in a hotel. I was a cleaner when I was younger and it definitely makes things quicker to turn a room over. I know I was payed but I really appreciated when patrons did this ❤

Thank you my dear sister for taking this role to mentor women in this area of being like a queen Esther with elegance , class , modesty, simply sophisticated , mores, propriety, ladylikeness, role model mother of future generation This is a sad orphan generation with “living in in parents” not caring parents who love to raise mothers of future generations. Women are the foundation of every civilization and future generations . They are not only mothers from the womb but teachers, counselors and pastors to a future generations First impression is the last impression. Truly appearance and conduct speak before you speak These principles don’t apply to only a hotel but many areas of life such as visiting a friends home, public bathrooms, office, restaurants, office desk, car, personal home etc

This is helpful. I'm planning a short spa getaway to a Four Seasons soon and I've never stayed in a 5-star hotel. The last thing I want to do is embarrass myself. Tipping hotel staff is something I need to brush up on beforehand because I'm not entirely sure who I should be tipping or how much is adequate.

Know the tipping culture in your destination & just be mindful to not leave the room messy. It's a matter of respect and cleanliness. In the US, you tip accordingly to the place and the service. Usually $10+ per day of service. Rarely I request something, so I might tip as well. I do not like to get service everyday as I barely use the room. I am neat, always hanging my clothes and leaving them in the closet. Any valuables in a safe or with me.

While tipping in the US, UK and other European countries is good practice even when not required it is not always good practice in other cultures. Tipping in Japan for example would be considered a major insult. An elegant women must always adapt to the culture in which she finds herself. Also, making up the bed makes more work for the staff. Just keep it off of the floor.

What if that "elegant woman" is poor and can't have enough money for tipping? Now you must be rich to be an "elegant woman"? loll

Tipping doesn't show you're elegant or not. And tipping is not a "culture", it's just a part of the capital service industry

Dear Madam, It may seem obvious for a lot of people but it is sad, truly that it actually happens; I am so grateful that you are kind to remind people those proper (etiquette) respectful behaviours; it happens (unfortunately, no matter the age!) too often; Thank you so much for your lovely guidance ! helene :)

I hadn't realized carrying food from the free breakfast was considered rude(and I did this at the Carnegie hotel of all places! 😱). The breakfast area is always packed and as I'm an early riser I've always braved the crowds and procured simple and reasonable portions breakfasts for my partner and I so we can eat together at the little tables with chairs once he's had his shower. If I wait for him we'd end up missing the breakfast altogether. So how do I handle this elegantly? Is it most elegant to continue this and treat my partner well? Should I stay down stairs and eat breakfast alone amidst the crowd? Should I pack breakfast bars(something my partner doesn't like but we won't necessarily have a microwave to heat anything up)? If there's a better option I would really appreciate any suggestions. We try to be smart with our spending while traveling and as breakfast is his least favorite meal of the day, we try to do that as economically as possible. Despite that, I'd still like to handle it with as much class as possible and our next trip is coming up!

It would added even more elegance to your great video if you had have explained that silver service is not simply eating at a table in a dining room (as opposed to room-service or buffet), but made the distinction between being served in the two main table service styles: - ordinary table service where the food is brought to you already on the plate - silver service, being where the food is plated (sometimes even cooked) beside you, at the table, with silver And, said sides that these two are served from, as they differ.

The title of this should have included "Cruise ship etiquette". Oh my goodness, the things we see - No dining room etiquette, the greedy buffet eaters/wasters, sloppy dress, etc.... I cannot imagine what the room attendant sees. smh
