This channel is just amazing. Between Dwarf fortress and Distant worlds, thank you !

Human-Republic are (totall!) OP. Early Gyr-Figther and Bullwark (+heavy Hive L) are insane.
@Kaador Жыл бұрын
Edit: That is because of the mass you bring up to the front. No Enemy (beside simular loadouts) can deal with that many missles AND fighters/bombers. The heavy Hive L and Hail S are good bypass systems, while the Hive L delivers (despite the raw numbers on screen) a very consistant high dmg.

You forget to show the Gyrfalcon interceptors. They are good fighters. The Heavy version of the Escorts have higher countermeasures. +10 That can mean a lot.
@DasTactic Жыл бұрын
Yes, I forgot to show them. Thanks for pointing that out. :) I agree 100% but the +10 countermeasures aren't unique to the Humans so I was going to cover this when I do the ship design episode. It really makes a massive difference in survivability. :)

The ship layouts is the best part of these videos.

You can do these with fighters and be very effective as well. Energy torpedoes and hail cannons are what you fit the fighters with. I love that you can go multiple directions with your military doctrine, and still be effective.

Another BIG difference its taking me time to get used to is only having predefined empires to play vs stellaris where you make your own empire from the ground up I totaly underdstand the game is very differnt its just again im used to makkng my oen story from scratch. Thid series has been fantastic at explaning how to play the game and also how the gane play loop is intended to go as well. Thanks for breaking thinga down so deeply and well! I tend to run my humans in stellaris more warhammer 40k than star trek 😊

I've been having a very intense set of battles with my human neighbor playing on Very Hard. So far my Mortalen empire is starting to turn the tide, but admittedly I've been save scumming a lot as I work to learn fleet and ship micro.

Heavy Escorts with 2 medium concussion missiles are pretty good bang for buck though. I usually keep them on cautious so they stay relatively safe behind the main blob raining destruction.

You made a comment about diplomacy and not intruding on neighbors as that pisses them off. I'm always having that issue, I meet a neighbor, start diplomacy and things go well. But then inevitably I start getting negative relations due to my ships intruding on them. So with all the automated stuff going on exploring and creating mining stations and all it isn't fun to have to micromanage all that to keep my ships out of my potential allies space. So is their a trick to managing this? Or something in the policies that says don't go into this races territory? Great episodes by the way!!

I have been enjoying the series so far. Certainly makes me want to go out and get the game now. This game is more of the space 4x game I want to play vs. Stellaris. The ship combat looks to be better in this game.

Yes, nearly everything is simulated in this game compared to others.

Only thing I wish this game (and Stellaris) had more of, is a fun and engaging way to play peacefully, similarly to Civilization. Sadly, it seems like there is no games that combines super interesting ways to play warlike (Stellaris, Distant Wars, Shadow Empire) with the more peaceful empire building games like Victoria or Anno. Other than civilization series and other civilization like games, of course. Anyways, enjoying this lets play, love how you break down complex games in ways that are very simple and easy to understand.
@Aedeus Жыл бұрын
This game you can definitely play peacefully and win. In fact early wars are the biggest noob trap of all. Granted, you will need to defend yourself.
@Xerxesjc28 Жыл бұрын
@@Aedeus Just to clarify, I mean to say engaging and interesting ways to play in both war time and peace time. For instance, Victoria 3 can be played by just going to war, but basically all you do is click declare war and the game does everything else for you.Or in EU4 for peaceful play, you can let years go by just pressing the same button over and over again when playing peacefully, (will admit colonizing is a bit more engaging). And in this game, theres a ton more options and complex strategic ways to make war than there is to play a peaceful game. Compare THAT to all the options you have available in a Civilization like games during war and peace time. Reason this bothers me is that there is only so much turn based Civilization like game I can play before wanting to try something else.
@Aedeus Жыл бұрын
@Xerxesjc28 so you're saying this game needs events and infighting like CK3... I mean that would be pretty cool actually. Can't imagine how hard it would be to balance.

these videos are really helpful. I am trying the humans now because I like that they seem happy when their leader changes. I just played the Mortalans and was loving it when their leader changed and 4 of my 8 planets rebeled and became independent systems..including my home world. (I did not have troops on the systems) Any suggestions for not loosing systems when life goes crazy during leadership changes? thanks.

One thing i dont understand is can humans ONLY be a democracy or a republic? I mean what happens if i choose momarchy? Ive yet to try it since i have really just started playing. I havd over 1000 hours in stellaris so its a whole new mindset.

they can be lots of governments, just those are prefered or most often chosen

Hi! I always enjoy your video but I do have a preference for the conventional approach for tutorials. I would have rather you presenting different concepts of the game instead of dedicated episodes to different starts and races or weapons. Still very interesting and helpful! 🎉

I hope that one day they add machine faction in stellaris machine empires are my favorite empires i always play a custom diplomatic AI empire and if all else fails war frames and fleets come to play with machine efficiency. they already have my second favorite the human faction.

Things like them having the "standard" size turret with it being small or medium are the kind of bad design decisions, and things that are bonkers they haven't fixed by now, that make me not want to play this game.
