I don’t know. If, hypothetically, we divide human flesh meat by interior vs exterior then I’m pretty sure we’re getting into calzone territory. I suppose the human head could arguably alternate from bread bowl to calzone depending on if the mouth is open but you need other contributing factors for a human to be classified as a cannoli. 🤔

The problem with naming everything wrapped a sushi is not only is that style called a maki roll but that the word "sushi" is about the preperation of THE RICE not the shape of the food. Raw fish just by itself is called sashimi, raw fish on top of a pile of sushi rice is called nigiri (as Bob said), and stuff inside a roll of sushi rice and nori is called a maki roll. Not saying I agree with Mark's canoli theory, but the cube theory is flawed.

Personally, I think it depends on what it's filled with to determine what the 4 walled starch item is called - rice = sushi, totilla = burrito or enchillada, pastry = cannoli or pie/pasty/calzone , pasta = lasagna or stuffed shell, and most others = casserole / hot dish/ speciality item.
