Serious Question: So once i upload my music, i have to pay an annual fee to keep it online? Is there anyway to just do a single fee to have it permanently up?
@meldmagic4 жыл бұрын
🦉 That's Distrokid that you pay $20 annually but you can release as many tracks as you like. If you decide to stop paying yearly, DistroKid gives artists the option to pay $29.99 USD per single or $49.99 USD per album to keep your songs on the streaming platforms indefinitely. If you release a lot of songs DistroKid may be a good choice. CDBaby's fees are higher but there's no annual fee. It may be the better deal for fewer releases. If you just want to have your music publicly available without selling it, consider mp3 hosting sites like SoundCloud or KZbin, hosting them on your own website, or peer-to-peer file sharing (BitTorrent, Napster, Limewire).

Bandcamp is also a really good place to upload your music free of charge, and you can have it on the platform for as long as you want.

I paid distro kid 20 about 2 years ago and never paid again and all my music is still up and they won't take it down seems fishy to me

6:12 let me get this straight. I have a song that I wrote you can hear it and go performanc it somewhere and get 45% of the royalties? U don't have to consult my permission at all? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@baselsettlements32144 жыл бұрын
That's because when you register with a performance rights organization that gives them the authority to license your music through agencies like Harry Fox you don't need a performance rights be your own publishing company get your own barcode and your own isrc

@@baselsettlements3214 What are all the requirements to be a music publisher and can you obtain 100% royalties of your own music world wide doing so without performance rights organizations? Also...do you need to apply for digital distribution services...or as a music publisher will be granted access to such independently separate from them?
