As an Anglican signed up to convert to the Roman church, this will be a blessing. Anglican prayer books are hands down the biggest blessing to my faith. I have a daily prayer habit because of it. I have a vehicle to read scripture twice daily. I will forever love prayer books.

I agree with you 100%; I think that this is probably the most perfect prayer book yet made. As a convert from the Church of England to the Catholic Church over 30 years ago, I greatly missed the Coverdale psalter which is sublime in my humble opinion, and when this was about to be published I immediately ordered one and have used it ever since and love it. Everything about it is brilliant; the clear layout, the rubrics in red, the elegant simplicity of it simply makes it a masterpiece. As an Englishman I particularly love the myriad of British saints included in the Kalendar of saints whom are simply left out of the Roman Kalendar as they are not ‘international’ but particular to the entire British Isles. I have since read that a number of people took an enormous amount of trouble to produce this prayer book, and I am very grateful for their labour which I pray may redound to their favour when they are brought before the Throne of Grace when they go to meet their Maker.

I'm glad you like it! It is a wonderful book, I did really enjoy it quite a bit but I figured since it had sat on the shelf for some time, and matched very closely your needs it would be better served by someone who would use it! The cover is synthetic leather I did leave my Pastor's ordination card in it on purpose haha. My favorite sort of feature was that I could use as much or as little of the supplemental text depending on my circumstances and still get the "fullness" of the office. This, being the commonwealth edition edition, is meant for the Ordinariates in England and Australia. There is a North American Edition out there that is lower quality (in my opinion), which uses more of the 1928 American Prayer book, rather than the 1662 like this one and doesn't contain the lessons.

Thanks, Ryan. I wondered where the "Commonwealth" came in. It's been my go-to daily office book since it arrived.

I got used to praying the Collins Divine Office which made this one more difficult. However starting afresh as it were I can see the appeal. I own this book and it is indeed a rich source of prayer. It’s a superb complete publication. As a Catholic I highly recommend this book to any believer really it’s very universal.

@@NickyMetropolis1313 wait which book? I think the Collins Daily Prayer from the Divine Office follows the General Calendar. However the book in this video may not do. However it’s absolutely usable and Catholic because it has an imprimatur.
@NickyMetropolis131311 ай бұрын
@@mysteryoffaith3999 Right, Collins Divine Office follows the general calendar, but this one I think does not. Does the ordinariate have a different calendar? I think they must. The thing is i like this book a bit more but I don't know about the calendar thing. Maybe it doesn't matter

@@NickyMetropolis1313 if you like this book 📕 pray it. It has an imprimatur so is fully approved for Catholic use. There’s nothing wrong with it at all! God will be pleased you’re spending time with him with this book. I can understand if the calendar thing bugs you a bit but if this Office makes more sense to you offer God thanks that you can use this one as an alternative. I know how complicated the offices can be. And God understands. They can be difficult at times. God bless you.

I've watched several videos about the Divine Office, but your video.sold me on this prayer book. I love the 1662 BCP IA and the Anglican Office Book. However, I too like the RSC 2CE translation I was raised Roman Catholic, became an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist at age 17 in 1977 (don't ask me why ... I was young!), was Pentecostal Holiness by 1985, went back to the Roman Catholic Church and looked at Eastern Orthodoxy, but in the end, became a heretic from your perspective. I still read the Psalter and Bible readings every day as well. Excellent video!

The only thing it seems to be missing is a psalter arranged for chanting. I started using the St. Dunstan's Psalter for chanting and at this point I can't imagine not adding music to daily prayer. The St. Dunstan's includes an order for the daily office, although it's kind of confusing in how it's laid out and I'm not really sure where the text comes from. Ben Jeffries (one of the leading men at the ACNA's publishing house) has been promising a breviary that would be an all in one deal with pointed psalms, a bible arranged by the lectionary, and even a 100 hymn hymnal. According to him it'll be out in April this year, which I'm pretty excited about to tell the truth. Good video
