I can't thank Fr. Chris enough for his work. In the middle of the pandemic my 9 y/o daughter Isabella was diagnosed with inoperable and terminal brain cancer. "Nightmare" doesn't even begin to describe what a difficult road and trial it's been for my family, especially my daughter who endured such immense suffering and my other daughter who no longer has a sister. Bella ultimately passed after a 9 month battle and many hospital stays during which we were not allowed to be together as a family due to COVID restrictions. It'll be 3 years since she passed on February 13th. I started watching live mass from the shrine every day while she was sick. The only thing that grounded me somewhat even on the most difficult days was the live rosary and daily prayer. But Fr. Chris specifically and his talks, homilies, and lectures played a huge part in bringing me back to the faith. I'm not going to lie, life is still very difficult, and I miss my daughter dearly every second of the day, but I have found more purpose in life through the church and something greater to unite my suffering to. I realize now that we really are just passing through this world to another destination (hopefully heaven) and death really is MUCH closer than we think. I also realize the spiritual battle that is taking place. Thank GOD for holy priests like Fr. Chris!

Truly, suffering does bring a greater good. Your daughter may not be physically with you anymore, but God has opened your eyes just like the blind man in the gospel. You're now closer to God Who loves you infinitely. Pray to Our Blessed Mother Who also knows what you're going through. She will take care of you just as She took care of our Lord Jesus Christ. 🙏💙

Oh my goodness I don’t have words to express my concern and sadness over the loss of your beautiful Isabella as her third anniversary approaches. Your sorrow and grief has got to be unimaginable, and yet you are welcoming God’s grace as you allow yourself to heal, as you console your surviving daughter, and as you are being a light to others. GOD BLESS YOU. Father Chris often speaks of allowing God to bring goodness out of the worst situations. Your experience with Bella’s illness and death, the isolation due to the pandemic, and the general anxiety that pervaded our world at that , takes that to another level ❤️. What a blessing that you found the daily mass and Rosaries and Father Chris from the Divine Mercy Shrine. Yes I guess it was God’s way of letting you know you were never alone during your baby’s illness and death. God definitely loves you in a special way. My father grew very holy in his last years on earth, dying at age 93. He would recite daily rosary and divine mercy at 3pm every day. I was blessed to be the one who prayed the duvine mercy chaplet over him as he was dying. He died exactly 6 minutes after I finished the chaplet! I immediately felt joy! And the hospice nurse present was also filled with awe and joy!

I’m terribly sorry you lost your daughter. I’m an old retired RN and realize she went through a rough time. God’s grace will get you through your tougher times, I’m certain of that . I was the oldest of four and along the years , I watched my parents bury my three younger siblings . My mom never lost her faith or her sanity . I tell people , in my opinion , my mom is a saint and I miss her a whole lot.

I have a devotion both to the Sacred Heart and the Divine Mercy, I can’t see any contradiction or one replacing the other. I actually started with the Divine Mercy and then was lead to the Sacred Heart. Humanity needs both. Just look around in this world and tell me that we don’t need all the devotions God wants to give us. People just don’t realize how much Jesus loves us and that He uses every means to save as many souls as possible. Btw: fr. Chris, I truly believe that you are also a priest after Jesus’ Heart 😊. So my birthday is Feb 15th & the Catholic calendar never had any saints officially listed even though there are so many. I always wished to have a saint to refer to on the calendar for my birthday too. Backstory, When I was 28, I heard these words in my head very loudly…”Jesus is coming back & you are not going back with Him”. I had an instant conversion. Went to confession. Discovered Sister Faustina’s diary. It changed my life and today Feb 16th, the day after my birthday, I discover amazing saints are all connected to me. They died on Feb 15th. Bl Michael, St Claude, St Faustus & St Faustina was named for the martyr which of course connects her to me because I just want her to be. Hahahaha I What a great day today is!

Was a fascinating story, but it doesn't seem to make biblical sense to me. What is God's mercy? It is God withholding what I deserve (hell). What is grace? It is God giving to me what I DON'T deserve. (His righteousness ). This grace is God's greatest gift, because Jesus paid the ultimate price for it. The old covenant of law was glorious, but the new covenant of grace far exceeds it because the old was a ministry of death while the new is a ministry of life and glory were sin has been dealt with and put away forever! All that's needed to take part is faith (trust) in the one time sacrifice of Jesus , Jn.1:12.

She’s canonized by the will of God and through the power of the Holy Spirit Who leads us to all Truth, Who is “ love and mercy Itself! Thank you Fr Alar, great job! I first read the diary in 1988. St Faustina was even given a vision of the bldg. where the new order would be and she and Fr Sopcko both saw the bldg. My sisters father in law who was in Europe during WWII, had a Divine Mercy Image, which he obtained in Poland and kept to his death. So the devotion was already promoted by Fr Sopocko during the war. Wow is right, in regard to Fr Sopocko. God has a plans for every individual, we have to submit ourselves to our unique plan! Fr Sopocko did this for Christ !

Great talk, Fr. Chris! And it’s very appropriate that Bl. Michael Sopocko was a “stand-in” for the Vilnius image. That’s what every priest is during the mass. That’s an odd thing for any Catholic to complain about. He was the MOST appropriate “stand-in” for the image because he was a priest and Faustina’s confessor and spiritual director. I loved how he was portrayed in the Faustina movie. I admittedly didn’t understand how important he was to the Divine Mercy message.
