I’m in joyful tears over the forgiveness of this beautiful Mother, Rachel! What a holy, loving, Christlike woman! And this explanation of forgiveness is so wonderful and an answer to my prayer tonight where I asked Jesus, how do I know if I have really forgiven my husband? Because I was reminded of something he did almost a year ago that I thought I forgave. And I said, I forgive him for what he did that day. So to hear that forgiveness does not mean we must forget and it is almost impossible to forget is very comforting. So now I KNOW I have forgiven him and did back when it happened because I chose to and I pray for him several times a day! I am very thankful to Jesus and Fr Chris Alar for answering my prayer! May God reward you Father and Rachel!

Thank you Fr Alar, you always present us with stories of great wisdom and learning. If I may , I’d like to share a very sad story about a dear uncle of mine who was senselessly murdered many years ago. My grandmother, a woman of prayer, had a stroke after hearing the tragic news. Shortly afterwards, one of her neighbours asked her why she wasn’t bitter. Grandmother answered:” they’ve been punished enough”. Indeed, one committed suicide, the other rotted in jail. Her name was Clementine which means merciful. I have so much to learn from her. ❤️🙏

What a powerful and moving episode on True forgiveness and the testimony of Rachel and the rest. Forgiveness is always considered difficult as we often struggle to take that first step. But when we surrender the situation and person to God seeking His will to act, He always gives us that peace and confidence to take that first step without any hesitation. This has been my personal experience of holding on to hurts and emotions for almost 2 decades. Letting go felt so light and peaceful. Thank you Fr. Christ and the team for this wonderful episode.

Thank You, Father, for this inspiring episode. I, too, have experienced Grace from God for Forgiveness! In 1989, my husband's partner embezzled a lot of money from our Company and we ended up losing our beautiful home and business and everything we worked for in 28 years because the IRS would not work with us. My husband ended up going to Georgia to work and I moved from Northeast Arkansas to Central Arkansas for work. I hated this man that causes us such heartache. I knew if I kept hatred in my heart - it would destroy me. I knew I had to Forgive him so I blessed the man over and over every day by saying: "Bless him, Behold the Christ in him!" "Bless him, Behold the Christ in him"... Every time I thought of the man, I would Bless him by saying this Blessing! It took awhile, but eventually, my heart healed and I didn't even think about him any more. One cannot Bless a person and hate them at the same time!!! I use this Blessing every time I get frustrated or irritated at a person or someone who I am having a problem with - it calms me down and gives me Peace!!!

Thank you for this beautiful sharing moment on forgiveness, Fr. Chris. I humbly say that it wasn’t easy for me to do it at the very beginning. The more I ignored it, the more disturbed I was. Then I asked Jesus to help me forgive those who deeply wounded my heart and treated me like a trash. I implored Him to give me His own heart that I may be able to forgive them. Although I struggled to do it, but with much time spent in prayer, I succeeded in peace. The triumph of forgiving is experiencing Jesus’ love, peace, joy and true friendship. Now, I have helped others who experienced the same, to pray for the person and forgive.

Thank you very much Rev.Fr.Chris for explaining the significance of Forgiveness. Whenever anyone talks about how difficult it is to forgive someone who has hurt us terribly. I always think of what a family friend, a very young Assistant Parish Priest, Rev.Fr.Divya Paul told me "You know why you still hurt? Because you haven't forgiven from your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you, Pam, and you'll experience a peace only God can give you . Believe me. It works. God bless Rev.Fr.Divya Paul wherever he is. God bless you Rev.Fr.Chris and your Congregation always Amen Bangalore India 17/12/21

Dear Fr. Alar, “Forgiveness” on a loved one’s deathbed is bittersweet, but gives hope for eternal peace for the one dying and those left behind. Please pray the soul of my children’s father. After our 7 yr. marriage was annulled, we moved on. He abandoned two of his three children. Thus, I am praying for his soul and for our two children that grew up thinking they were not wanted by him. On his deathbed he made peace with them. Sadly, he told our daughter that he did not want to return home to live surrounded by hate and anger. He wanted peace and to be with them before he died. He asked for me and I sent a message to be read by our children. May others learn from this sad story that forgiveness, hope, obedience, and telling someone you truly love them does not have to be done on one’s deathbed. Why wait? I say, “Life is temporary, but hell is for eternity.” Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to say Good-bye. The most unifying gift is prayer. I will pray for his soul and should he have to stop in purgatory or pass go straight into heaven, I know that he will ask our Lord and Our Blessed Mother to intercede for us who are left behind.
