It seems like there is a whole new subgenre of co-op shooters. This, Deep Rock Galactic, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Starship Troopers: Extermination, seem to have a lot of similarities. If I'm not mistaken, can't a 'support' also do a 'mortar squad' formation with teammates? One person can carry an ammo pack for rockets, then join a teammate with a rocket launcher to give extreme rate of fire!

Technically it's a recoilless rifle not a rocket launcher but yes there are squad weapons like the recoilless and the auto cannon where one carries the gun the other the ammo backpack, allowing you to operate faster then lugging along both alone.
