Saying this is the best ending is a matter of opinion honestly because to me it feels like the one most hamfisted into the game. There’s no foreshadowing throughout the entire game about it being an option and tbh realistically speaking, after all that time fighting Dallis and the divine order, to me it just doesn’t make any sense for the godwoken to trust her and lucian enough to go through with this.

Oh for sure, this is 100% just my opinion, it’s the ultimate sacrifice, our power and souls for the good of the realm but in terms of the setting for DOS3 this ending is a good foundation

It's not the best ending. This is the most logical ending to be exact. If you are to make a DOS3 then you can't have this one be the ending at all. The main thing about this is that you have nothing to worry about. If you kill her or anything like that it doesn't change anything she will just still talk at the end like you let her live. The endings are all set in stone but only one is the true ending. The ultimate sacrifice ending is the only one without anything truly bad happening. Giving everyone source basically has a war and then have races war over land. If you don't rise to divinity well you just get the evil ending basically letting the god king take over the world and having everyone hate you that much more then when you give everyone source in the world. No ending is the best ending but it is only one ending that will start the DOS3 game.

Had to abandon my game. Crashed on my Switch way too much. Nearly every time I tried to save my game. Crash. I feel robbed. 🤬. Thanks for posting this. At least I got to see the ending. 👍🏻

This feels like the most natural of all endings, I wonder if this is the ending Larian choose as cannon in DOS3.

One of the best games ever made... but that you have to kill yourself to get the best ending is utter crap! (Yes they ex-machinaed you beeing whole again in the post game scene... but you did not know that when the choice had to be made.)

And Lucian reigns? Yes his ultimatimate intentions are "good", but if you think about it, isnt he like Rivellons Hitler? Blaming everything on one smal portion of the population? Putting them in internment camps, gruesomely exoerimenting on them, disregarding any human decency? Or outright just kills them.

Knowing that the purge ending was considered "canon" after i finished the game and looked into the lore just soured my experience a little bit. It doesnt fit the characterizations for any of the playable characters. If anything, it would only make sense in some sort of failed persuasion mini-boss, bcuz every single one of playable characters would not let themselves be pushed around like that.

Basically, when you are in dialogue with Lucien and Dallis, rather than choosing the options that lead to a fight, instead let them rip your soul, it prevents the entire fight and thus Braccus Rex doesn't get loose. It also rewards you with the "best or secret ending".

@@donHaize alternatively, you can fight them, and the God king (Lucian and Dallis get knocked out) and you get to see what your companions do afterwards aswell.
