A lot of old skills were changed/removed in the Enhanced Edition. "Minor heal" now is called "Regeneration"(heals 17 instead of 11) and it costs 2 extra AP if you don't have Hydrosophist 1, so you can't actually have no points in it and still have the heal.

Will do. I had started on classic with the pre-made wayfarer and fighter not knowing that you could customize everything to begin with. I restarted after watching your videos, and it is so much better now. I made new characters on tactician difficulty and am really enjoying it. Going with a one-hand weapon and shield fighter and an elemental wizard now. Good call on the teleportation spell. It is a must have for mages.
@RoninJeremy7 жыл бұрын
Benito Juanjuarez yeah i did the same my first few times...don't be afraid to restart once you understand the game a bit more. like for me the 2 allies you can pick up made me restart to make sure i was maximizing my teams effectiveness. seeing as you are going one handed and tactician on your first attempt id say don't put too much into 1 handed skill so that you can test 2 handed out to see what you like more. depending on your other party members you might end up needing more damage.
@benitojuanjuarez24387 жыл бұрын
Thanks that's a good idea, so far i only have 1 point in there, so i will test out 2-hand as well. I was thinking of taking the wizard and the ranger companions and using the ranger as a scout to disarm traps and unlock stuff. Also your advice on using the companions to craft and smith works well. Before i watched the video i was planning on dumping a lot of my main characters points into that since those are two things i usually focus on a lot in RPG's

That's great to hear, I'm happy you're making good progress. I usually find youtube gamers pretty disingenuous or their personalities over-ride and detract from the gameplay shown (I guess to target more numerous younger, less patient audiences), but I find your videos are a breath of fresh air in the field. Personally I think it's a great hobby because even though you invest a lot of time in it, I'd say you get a lot out of it, too. You're learning both great soft & hard skills like recording/editing, public speaking, marketing /branding (your content), etc. which will all help you with anything you do otherwise in life. Glad to hear you appreciate the feedback - keep up the good work!!
@RoninJeremy9 жыл бұрын
Thanks:). You are absolutely right about the skills being learned without even really thinking about it. The hard part about it is there's not really anyone other than yourself to figure out what you need to learn for it. I haven't really thought about a target market since its not about making money but about conveying information as a main goal and staying true to myself. If money does come from it in the long run great, i'm not going to say no to it and i hope that like minded gamer's will see this. As a long term goal maybe bring help to some developers that truly care about quality games VS making a quick buck. If we could as a community support those Dev's we could make a difference.

I just got done with Pillars of Eternity 2 and it was pretty easy. I just started playing Divinity EE and I'm getting absolutely destroyed at level 3. I'm really shocked at how difficult this game is so far. I'm going to have to start over and play on the easiest difficulty setting and watch some more walkthroughs.
@RoninJeremy6 жыл бұрын
Martin yeah its a hard start but once you get the mechanics down it gets really fun. You'll also see how much you can get away with. The best tip i can give you to start is to build a solid team. Or away least plan a build early in the game. Stick to non hybrids. Make a solid warrior, ranger and 2 mages. That group will make it easy for you to learn. I also have a guide to cyseal you should watch because there's so much to do in town. About 2 hours worth shopping all dialogue.

Loved the opening. You need 16 different things. It’s very complex. Good luck.

@@RoninJeremy I got into the tutorial dungeon. I found a new hood. Pressed the A button and my character consumed the hood. That was interesting. You can eat your new armor. I let my son choose my classes. I have a Cleric and a Warrior.
@RoninJeremy3 жыл бұрын
@@DadBodYogaFlow might be a console thing about the hood, never played on console. It might have been dropped? Or deleted (never happened to me) Warrior and cleric are good starts, the game is more classless in a sense since you can build how you wish. I do recommend not going too hybrid until you understand the game more. It is beatable with no gear, specific builds. No magic, no range... But in the beginning you might struggle, the best advice i can give is take your time, explore and maximize your exp gains. The game has a limited exp it can give out. So it's important to do as many quests as you can. You don't need to 100% but early game you should be trying to at least be similar level to the monsters you fight. If you do a lot you'll be 1 to 2 levels higher in no time and that makes the game much easier. The sequel is very similar but better in everyway, and after a couple hundred hours you can mod the game to be much more challenging. Good luck, enjoy the best tactical rpg series out there.
@DadBodYogaFlow3 жыл бұрын
I can’t get my characters past lvl 3/4 in Cyseal and there are not enough quests to grind in the city. Every fight I find outside the city involves WAY too many enemies at WAY too high a level. Is there something I’m missing?
@RoninJeremy3 жыл бұрын
@@DadBodYogaFlow It usually takes me 2-3 hours in cyseal for every run IIRC. (dialogue skipping) Check out the graves in graveyard caution for the level 6 , might need to come back later. 2 bloodstones Explore every nook since you get EXP from exploration. return the sheep's corpse investigate jakes murder get nicks head away from the crowd. avoid gaining exp with a dead party member since they will not get the EXP. (biggest Flaw in DOS1) you can open the door in the harbor with the magic lock(requires persuasion) I suggest save scum if you really want in. I think the early game is likely the hardest on new players because you are so starved for money, so make sure you maximize on the gold you do get and buy what you NEED. Skill's / spells mostly, I never by gear. Hope this helps!

Lol I can imagine, I've been trying to learn so much before playing the game, then I restarted on Tactician mode so that didn't help haha
@RoninJeremy9 жыл бұрын
+Flyi Yeah Tactician mode is easier than the original Hard mode, but there are more enemies and if you are not paying attention or ready for some fights, mobs spawn during combat which never happened in the original other than summons pretty much. Take your time, max your spell usage, i have 500+ hours combined from DOS and DOS EE so i might make it look simple now but trust me i restarted 3 times on my first play through. I did not know about Jahan and Maedora's skills at the start. I did not optimize my mains to match with their skills at first. Your first time through with the story should probably take 100 hours easy if you don't skip area's. Let me know if you need help with something, i should be able to help out.

If you have the time, try to play it now or grab it on the next sale if you can. DOS 2 is already being worked on, I am not sure of a release date yet, but if they improve on what they have already from this game and don't dull down the game(Dragon Age series) this could become my new favorite series for Tactical RPG.
@edwin-jq4dp4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this, I am an avid RTS player and spent 2k hours in Dota but never played CRPG though I really wanted to. Having picked this game several years ago on a crazy sale I never managed to get down to it, because of a big learning curve and the need to actually research viable builds. Your video is a great stepping stone for an effective playing. Quick question, do you know some good source of knowledge to get better in the game?
@RoninJeremy4 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you are looking for, I can probably answer any question you have. I'm on the road today until late tonight. Our discord can be quiet at times but lots of knowledgeable players on it. Myself alone I have 1k hours in this Game and 1.5 in the sequel. Are you looking for builds, maps? If you are new to the genre you might want to start on normal or even story mode until you understand the combat. Once you wrap your head around what you can get away with then it gets pretty easy. The beauty in this game is that you can play multiple different ways and be efficient. It's up to you to find your playstile and how you like to play.

hi guys, i started with game without knowing anything in Tactician mode (more enemies) i started with a knight and ranger. i want to restart again with new characters, do you know what is the best duo for you ?
@yulfine16886 жыл бұрын
tactician mode man...that mode the enemies know the best tactics used against them in the original game among other things. It's very difficult but I find a more CC based team works far better than a mixture. Having 2 tanks so essentially can cc one or more targets with battering ram or crushing fit is very useful. Having one ranger is your damage right there. Finally a good healer cc hybrid rather than going damage. Then having someone with witchcraft is amazing even early on being able to summon creatures just to distract the enemy tank damage or do some status to the enemy or even doing some extra dps is very useful. Of course that's not the most effective setup but I find it quite fun. You can still mix a good amount of variety and fun with tactician mode. However it will be much harder for you not going with simple solid builds and basically you ignore most other things and focus hard on combat really. Which is a bad choice for any player not fully exploring the story and options. Starting on the easiest mode allows you to really learn everything and learn most secrets in the game and just step up the difficulty each playthrough as you learn more. Hard and tactician mode its probably best to go mainstream with everything rather than going out for more charisma based quests and other things you can get good bonuses from. Mostly because it makes the game combat far harder when investing precious points into those stats. Its kinda hard really and its less fun when you cant venture out as far as you should be able to with class customization. I think the leveling system could be better and the way points are given. I suggest ignoring weapons for points since you get the oh shoot the tele something weapons which don't benefit from the other weapon points only that skill itself. It will allow you to put those precious points into more important things than just a 25% damage increase with that specific weapon. Unless its your dps ranger than I suggest bows or if youre using the crossbow. Late game for tanks you can switch to two handed especially if you have 2 tanks that will allow you to save points in one handed and two handed since youll be using the tele something weapons. It also allows you ignore the extra block chance which while nice isn't needed and you can put those points in better areas such as willpower and the armor. Once you past 100% with different resistances whatever you pass 100% with will heal you. So if youre a 118% resistant to fire then you heal for 18% fire damage. Unless there is a cap now for players and not enemies which is sort of annoying.

3:18, omg i never thought I'd see the day where someone corrected themselves misusing the abbreviation (D.P.S), which is a calculation versus a type of class A DPS Class doesn't make sense, and it annoys me that sheer misinterpretation has caused such bad habits with verbiage. Just avoid a full on rogue build .for this one since they got nerfed too hard imo. Keep your mind open to the skills sinergy, you can do a lot. Quick question! What does initiative do and why is it good?
@RoninJeremy9 жыл бұрын
+Zedified Initiate is probably one of those stats that people overlook, INI is your chance to attack before the enemy. It governs who is going to hit before who. If you lack initiative you stand at getting hit or even worst stunned and become ineffective. Easy ways to get initiative; Leadership skill, Speed and generally gear. If you have enough points into leadership, I aim for 5(3 without gear ) i pick up the rest with gear to save you the 9 points you can spend somewhere else. You can probably make it to 5 with 2 but you can also make it to 6 with 3 points which gives even more bonus's. Another reason for Leadership 5, other than i think 15 INI, is immunity to Fear. Hope this helps.

hey guys I got some hours invested into the game and I don't want to start over I made a witch and a warrior can I keep the witch as a caster or is that no good... also how should I build the witch she has one and Loremaster or maybe two and I think she can detect traps -
@RoninJeremy9 жыл бұрын
hey, glad you asked. Now a witch may not be optimal to start with it is not a reason to start over. You might find it hard at first but you can quickly recover. The class system is fully open, just give her a point into geomancer and buy the spider spell from a vendor, that alone will help immensely. Then figure how you want to play that class. crowd control go aero and or hydro, damage pyro and or Geo. The witch tree is not a bad tree, is just a support tree for the most part, so it is better later on for buffs and de buffs. Try not to double up on to many ability's like blacksmith crafting or pickpocket for example, you only need 1 in your party to carry out non combat functions. Hope this helps out, at least starts to help you make sense of the game.

+Ronin Jeremy ok thank you now I have the enhanced edition on ps4 so she already has the summon spider spell and I think she has Loremaster and trap detection so what should be my first points to put into her like just put it all in intelligence or constitution for now and how about my ability points if summon spider is already there what should I get

@RoninJeremy9 жыл бұрын
+skillywilly187 Well there's a few intricacies with stats and skills. I would recommend getting speed to 7 for that extra AP every odd number is another AP. If you can learn to avoid damage with your caster then but is only to ensure you are not missing out on your Max AP. spells you get from merchants or as loot. In order to allow yourself to use an equip new spells you need to buy the spell, then equip it for it to work. try to only gives on 1or2 points into skills current you. You are limited in how many total points you can allocate go to tight by some gear that you can use.

Would this still work with the Enhanced Edition?
@RoninJeremy9 жыл бұрын
+Stefan Hansson Most this information, if not all is valid for the enhanced edition. The only big change off the top of my head form this video would be Glass Canon having been nerfed a bit and rogues not being as over powered. Warriors had a bit of a buff. I would still recommend running 1 tank 2 caster 1 dps. Your tank when it comes near the end game can start using a 2 handed weapon if you can CC the enemy well enough, he will then become a dps class essentially.
