As if divorce was a foreign concept to that outdated practice lmao! Marriage whether modern or traditional should never be a prison where anyone is bound forever and ever no matter what. Perhaps don't get married in the first place and should one decide to, enter into pre-nups to protect everyone involved, including any offspring.

CT is spewing pure wisdom on this one, romantic euphoria combined with youthful ignorance are no states to be making such a consequential decision as marriage. The biggest con is that society can only be established from a foundation of marriage....the truth is family is not a function of marriage, it can and does exist out of marriage.

If you want to know how selfish this Western civilization idea called Co-Parenting is, have the parents build one house in which the children will stay. Let the parents pack their bags every week and Travel to see the children in that house. Once done, he/she can move out and allow the other adult parent to move in. Let the adults live in a suitcase. The kids need to grow up in a near - permanent setting. I guarantee you no parent would want to live like that for 18 years.

So what is the African civilization alternative to this "Western civilization" concept of Christian-marriage that Africans willingly adopted in the first place? It's massively hypocritical to judge co-parenting on the basis of its origin alone when Africans choose to be indoctrinated into the religion and practices from whence the entire concept originates to begin with.
