clip012 Im so sorry :( After such a long time, its so hard they knew so much about you, events that happend bonded you, dreams built together, etc etc. The pain is not comparable to other relationships, and you will sort of look for that person in others. It will take such a long time to get used to. But I can promise, once you get over it, you are no longer affected, the pain somehow disappears, and you will find a strength you never knew. You can love again but this time, you will love deeper. Focus on your mistakes, improve them. Take the time to see things from a different perspective. Turn to Knowledge to better yourself. What is a mature person? When is it ok to be angry? If youre a believer in God, turn to Him. I did. Sometimes, my past comes back unexpectedely, randomly, but it doesnt leave me in pain. I just see how much i have changed and i know that person cannot hurt me anymore. Life has taken me in another direction. It took me a solid year and half to finally be free from suffering. I was left. I was broken. And I rebuild myself. Mostly alone. You can too. I wrote this to you, so you know you are not alone, and what youre going through you will overcome maybe not today, maybe in a year or 2. But you will and you choose who you become. This is why I quit being a wedding photographer after 10 years. Half my couples kept getting divorced, and I spent a lot of time with them and their stories of love. Then I’d hear their stories of falling out of love. Over time I thought my job was becoming pointless, then I slowly begin to hate it, hate the wedding days. And no couple deserves that. The last straw was when one of my cards malfunctioned and the couple wanted to sue me because I lost like 10 minutes of their precious day. Fast forward to now, they are divorced. So I guess I don’t have to feel guilty anymore. Present day… i shoot real estate, and it pays the bills! No drama with couples and their families. A much better fit for me. 😊

Yeah I got the impression that it was one of those "grass is greener on the other side" type of things for him. 'This isn't good anymore so it needs to end altogether' as opposed to 'this isn't so good anymore so it needs to change.' Sucks cause she sounds like she was blindsided by it. Many people give up easily not realizing that all relationships will ebb and flow and at times need more effort than others to be fulfilling. But as long as there's still real affection there, which it seems like there is, then it can be improved.

What really stands out to me is that when he proposed to her he said, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" and then later divorced her instead of working to fix whatever was wrong in the relationship. Lots of people say the words, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" when they should really add "as long as I feel like it" or "as long as you're still attractive to me" or whatever because that is what is really in their heart that they aren't saying. They both seem like really sincere people who care for each other but I think she cares more. He threw her a curve ball and it doesn't seem like she did anything to warrant it - now she's left with all of the emotions to deal with. I don't think it's healthy for her to try to maintain a friendship with him because she seems to still love him and would reconcile if he wanted to. If there's no chance of him sincerely wanting to reconcile and stay with her, I think she should move on and find new people. Seeing the date of this video, hopefully she has by now.

I so agree. Complete No Contact is the ONLY way she will truly heal and move on, day by day, little by little. The more you stick with No Contact, promising to yourself to NEVER break it under any circumstances unless you have kids together, the less your heart will hurt, and the less you want to be around your ex (think of your ex like a cocaine addiction - cocaine is not good for your body, being around your ex is in most cases not good for you, you'll get hooked on them, anxiety and sadness will consume you,band who wants that?). My ex is still one of my best friends. I am healed. We just talked a week ago, and I felt nothing but peace, because I went no contact and healed. You HAVE to take care of yourself.

Gaea Once married, you do have an obligation. You literally bind yourself to that person, and promise to stay with them no matter what. Of course there are decent reasons to divorce - abuse, infidelity, etc .. HOWEVER, marriage is not the same as dating. There is certainly an obligation to stay w/ that person.

I think generally a lot of men are extremely happy when they are single immediately after a break up or divorce assuming they were the ones who originally wanted it. I dated a guy once (just as an example) and asked him why he got divorced. His answer was "I missed being single".

Yeah, I think it's wayyyy too soon and the wounds are still fresh. Maybe they can be friends someday, but right now, it's not healthy for either of them. He's using her to fix himself, when he really needs a therapist (in my opinion), and she's still holding onto the past by trying to preserve some sort of relationship with him. It's really sad.
