This is the entire process showing how I stretch my hair using baby wool to see if I'll get the same results as thread.
For this hairstyle, I used:
- Yarn or baby wool
- Combs
- oil or your hair cream
- A pair of scissors
A few helpful tips include:
- work on well moisturized hair,
- be sure to hold your sections firmly but not too tightly to prevent discomfort.

Very beautiful!!! I have been protective styling with african threading (rubber). I redo every 2 or 3 wks as of now. I just did a really good set (i recycle my parts no use of combs needed). I will wear tis set until the end of September. Looking to gain 2 or 3 inches by the end of December 2023.

Definitely.. You can also add yarn to your hair before wrapping but be sure the yarn is way longer than your hair depending on how much length you want

kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmPLnoaMn5WMfqs Hey Kim, the above link is to a video that shows a great hack when doing African threading, so that you do not need to cut anything when undoing the threading. The thread you use does not matter, I know because I use knitting thread/yarn. Personally what I do is, I split the thread, as she has done in this video, into two halves and continue looping one over the other and when all my hair is covered, I tie it like a bow, so that simply pulling the thread unties it like a shoe string. No need for scissors at any point. Hope I have helped:)

Great job! Eveh, I observe your hair is really long. Will the threading help my hair growth, and could you share tips that helped your hair growth or is it genetic?
@sunflowerlovesbees
@sunflowerlovesbees 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it will. My natural hair is very short but I threaded every 2 weeks , you won’t believe how long it is now and no tangling cos you know 4c hair can be a pain

Would the yarn be drying to the hair, or does it help hold in the moisture?
@EvehOgban
@EvehOgban 3 жыл бұрын
No, yarn does not hold in moisture at all.. It's very drying. Which is why one needs to moisturise thoroughly before doing styles like this
@she_prays_she_slays_demons
@she_prays_she_slays_demons 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video! I just found out today that threading exists. After washing my hair, should I dry it with a blow-dryer? The problem with that though is that it tangles immediately after blow drying it and air drying it won't work either. Do you have and advice?
@EvehOgban
@EvehOgban 2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome sis❤️ I’m glad you found this video. You’ll need to moisturise and use a heat protectant before you proceed to blow dry after washing your hair. If it still tangles immediately after, then you might be in need of a trim. Naturally, you shouldn’t face any issues threading your hair
