DIY aluminium Poly-V pulley (In under 10 minutes!)

Decided to film the process of turning an underdrive alternator pulley on the lathe. Quite a laborious task to turn manually, but satisfying to make all the same. Thankfully I won't bore you with realtime footage and have sped things up to 16x.
Lathe is a Myford "Super 7"

Use these pulleys on a redrive for my Ultralight powered by a Chinese V-Twin ATV motor, how do you set depth of profile so it engages accurately with the multi-V belt?

The belts are actually designed to run on the tapered sides of the V rather than fully engaging / bottoming out which is why belt groves aren't to a point /¯\_/¯\_/¯\_/¯\_/¯\ so a specific depth isn't a requirement. I think I just (by eye) copied an existing pulley I had.
