I can't believe I missed this kit! Lol Ive been waiting on parts express to restock their 18" kits but was kind of nervous because the enclosures are sealed and Im way more of a ported fan. Have you built both and would recommend one over the other? Would this vented enclosure work good with a Dayton 18" Ultimax? Lol Im sorry for the 21 questions. This video pumped me UP

I love the GSG kits! I would go GSG over the other. 18” Ultimax is great in these. I have a build video for that specifically.

@@moveezy5591 I’ve never assembled one in a day. Between glue and paint drying it takes time. If you want to try to use Brad nails rather than clamps to hold things together and keep building while it’s wet you might be able to. You can do it over 2 days though.

Hi Jiles I got the FP10000G amplifier based on some of your videos, I have a couple questions, does it have a trigger or do I have to cut it off and on, secondly your fan modification how’s the long term sound quality? Also I’m having a problem with only one of the 4 subwoofers playing do you think it’s something to do with the speakon connection or something else

Hey! 1) No trigger. I use a power strip that turns it on and off when I turn my processor on. From Amazon. 2) Fans have been great. No impact other than less fan noise. 3) Hard to tell without digging in. Could be 1 of many many things. Always check cables first.

Yeah I’m try all the wires I hope when I carried them upstairs nothing came loose inside them but I’ll start digging, it’s my first time using speakon cables so I wasn’t sure if the cables on the inside would be opposite of +1 and-1

The port looks very narrow for such a huge drivers. Im sure the vent air velocity will be very high. Did you observe any port noise ? And please let me know the port height. Is it like 2" ???

I wish they would start selling flat packs in birch or plywood. The whole clamp thing is just dumb to me. Its cleaner and mdf might be incrementally better but i can throw that box together in an hour if i glue and screw it. Ive built a few boxes like this and they all turned out good. I tested and calibrated

The equivalent for mdf is glue and brad nails. I’d still clamp the final product till it’s dry though.

Gsg audio says the tuning frequency of Marty cubes is 20hz, MBM is 26hz, and Mini Marty is 18hz. But they didn't mention if these are at F3, or F6, or F10. I tried to simulate in Winisd by estimating the air volume based on box dimensions and it looks like these tuning frequencies are not possible at F3. You have any idea of their published tuning frequencies are at F3 or F6, or F10??

Tuning frequency is a specification of the box design. F3 is the -3db frequency of the subwoofer (box + driver). In WISD you use a specific subwoofer to model so the results will be different for everyone.

Its really like watching glue dry. You should always dry fit all pieces before applying glue. You have been voted down by the flops + socks committee on the last point. And they do fund the channel... so....
