DIY Basement Stairwell Update Because It Needed It

This video is pretty special to me because after all the renovations that I've done in the house, this basement stairwell update was one of the last big ones that needed to be done. I've literally avoided looking at it for the past three years anytime I was in the kitchen, but I'm happy to say that it's finally finished. I wanted to blend the aesthetic of the main level and upstairs with the 70's vibe of the basement, so keeping the wood trim was a key feature in there that had to stay. I think the clean white walls and the new vinyl tiles that I installed make it feel fresh and more the vibe of the rest of the house. All-in-all I'm super happy with how it came together. A little backstory on me ... My name's Marcel. I’ve been living and working in NYC for the past twenty years, but in 2020 I decided to buy my first home in Milwaukee with my boo. i like the ultra pure white, but think i prefer a bit of a warmer tone. whenever i use polar bear by behr i always love it. its creamy and dreamy and looks good any time of day, or night.

Nice! Which white paint did you use? I think in the video you said super white, but the link shows ultra pure white. I was leaning towards painting my wood trim ultra pure white, but was concerned it would be too cool and wouldn't go well in warmer spaces.

it’s ultra pure white! i messed up and said the wrong one. i always have too many paint colors in my head 😬 ultra pure white is pretty neutral. after i painted in there, i wished it was a little warmer, but it’s still not that cool, in my opinion. you should check out polar bear by behr if you’re looking for a warmer white. i love that one. or, chantilly lace by benjamin moore is another really good white. sorry for confusing you! :)
