How deep a base did you use? 1 inch gravel + 1 inch mason sand?
@brewcitybuilds3 ай бұрын
@@yunglos12 i dug a 4 inch hole and did a 1 inch layer of gravel and an inch of sand before laying the pavers down. i ended up removing some of the sand as i was leveling the pavers, but starting with that base helped me make sure everything lined up nice. lemme know if you have any other q’s :)

This is so modern and elegant, and you make it look so easy. Also, I *LOVE* the 1960's style mod fire pit. I can't wait to see what you do next!

the concept of that is wild to me, but i’ll take it :)

@@brewcitybuilds Your personality is very approachable and amusing. You make projects without a high budget look bespoke. Most KZbin interior design channels are fairly similar, yours is personal and unique. I hope you never stop making videos. You are doing something unique and special.

This is a great idea. I already have a concrete patio off the back of the house but adding a fire pit area more in the center seems cool. May tackle a similar project this summer

Hi, great video, very informative. Could I ask what make your fire pit is? We really like it.! 😊
@brewcitybuilds3 ай бұрын
@@alexdvid1968 thanks alex! it won’t let me link it in the comments, but if you look in the description box, there’s a direct link to it there. my only advice would be to bring it inside during the winter, or the paint will start to chip from the moisture. i leaned the hard way.

Good job Marcel. Recycling sod is a bitch. I don’t think there is anything harder on the back. We love Wally.

Wow! What a beautiful patio! My back hurts just from watching this 😂. Did you plan the dimensions after you knew what size paver you were using?
@brewcitybuilds6 ай бұрын
seriously… my lower back was feeling it by the end of this one. i probably should’ve measured it out beforehand, tbh, but since i was using 12x12 pavers, i figured i could do a rough estimate and kinda winged it since i knew i was adding the pea gravel between them. it did take a bit of math when it was time to lay the pavers to make sure the spacing was even, but luckily it worked out. i learned a few things for when i start work on the walkway back there.

Over how much is this project?😅 I’m on a budget lol
@brewcitybuildsКүн бұрын
@@joyjackson8249 hey joy! my budget was $500, but i think i spent closer to $600. what saved a lot of money was buying the sand and gravel in bulk, rather than bags from the store. i did a price comparison before i started and it made it way less expensive for all the supplies. let me know if you have any other questions when you take on this project :)

Hey hey! Now that it’s been a few months, do you feel like you put enough gravel and sand? I saw videos of people putting 4 inches of gravel. 🫠 I feel like that’s soooo much more money. I’d prefer to just do 1.5 inches of gravel and 1.5 of sand with the 1 inch paver if I can get away with it
@brewcitybuilds3 ай бұрын
we had a lot of rain this spring and it was literally flooded over the patio a few times , so i was nervous it was going to mess everything up, but it’s still totally level. i think you can get away with 2 inches of gravel and sand. are you in a dryer climate? then it would be totally fine.
