Honestly getting that daily reminder to just do it and start the project I’ve been thinking of really helps. take a clasp and use it to hold the wire in the resin for 24 hours, on use masking tape

That’s some seriously quick curing resin! The tool is a hemostat , I use mine for removing doll hair from inside the head when repainting and rerooting dolls, wow, stunning work!!

Oh my god. These made me almost weep. I had a black kitty and I always called him my little bat - his eyes, almost always, were only his black pupils. These look such much like him. He passed away almost 3 years ago at age 3 to lymphoma cancer. These are so gorgeous, I just can't believe how stunning they are. 😭😭😭

These are amazing and so lifelike! I love that one at the end with lace wings... i vote more dolls with lace. Only way i can think that would make this cooler is tiny pose-able feet with instamorph claws, perhaps? Flying-foxes have remarkably long and spindly toes. Its adorable and creepy.

That nice long tool you used for stuffing is called a hemostat! It’s actually a medical tool used to clamp arteries during surgeries to stop bleeding, but it has several uses for sewing too. You can usually find them pretty cheaply, but if you don’t have them needlenose pliers work just as well.

That tool is a curved Kelly hemostat. Super handy tool to have. Your bats are so cool!! I really love them all. Thank you for sharing this video! Love, light and blessings to you and yours. Additional surgical tools that are very helpful for crafting: Straight Kelly, straight tips Curved or straight Mosquito, smaller version of the Kelly Alligator clamp, big hefty version of a Kelly There are tons of other instruments that are incredibly useful... google surgical instruments, then find your favorites!

the tool you asked the name of is hemostats one of my favorite tools for fur is actually your standard fingernail brush i use it to brush the seams to get the trapped fur out

To color polymorph/Instamorph you can mix in acrylic paint, it works really well. You can also reheat the pieces with a heat gun.

I think they are Haemostats (I couldn't see if they locked together or not). If so they are also used for medical stuff as well. I really LOVE the way you painted the white and pink bat. It looks so elegant and lifelike (the others are great too but that one is my fave!)

They are kelly locking hemostats. We use them a great deal in the medical field for surgical procedures. Also great for craft projects!

Awwww! Those are absolutely too cute! Makes me wanna buy or try making one myself! I might be mistaken, but I believe the tool you were using are called forceps. They're usually used for more medical related tasks, but honestly, it is rather clever how you use them to stuff a body. I normally see people just use a straw or pencil and just cram it in there.

The Albino bat is my new spirit animal and I NEED her! I also totally second the just go for it and try mentality. I just made a dress without a pattern. I've never made anything beyond pillowcases and a pair of bloomers before that. It's not a perfect dress but I can wear a belt to cover a lit of mistakes and no one but me sees them.

They turned out great! I love bats! 🧙🏻♀️🦇💞 Just a short question: why don't you paint the heads before connecting the fur to the wire? In this way there would be no risk of getting black paint on e.g. white fabric that is attached directly behind the head. Would be great if you answered 🥰

Thanks! Since I normally airbrush everything the airbrush covers any paint I may of gotten on the fur and I also do it this way as sometimes I airbrush the clay head when airbrushing the fur so I won’t paint it beforehand as it may not match up as well :)

Yay! Was on a short five-day vacation and came back to this! Bats are one of my favorite animals! But question because this may be the answer to how I can do my dragon's wings: how did you do the fingers that weren't on the edge? Did you just pinch the fabric over them?

As mentioned in the video once the first main wire is sewn I pinch the fabric over the other “fingers” and sew it together :)

Those “scissors” are called hemostats! They’re used to clamp arteries to stop them from bleeding during a procedure. Or to grip the needle during sutures(stitches).

theyre called needle nose pliers! and they come with scissor handles or regularf plier handles. make sure you get the long needle nose ones (some call em needle nose tweezers too!)
