The lemon juice in the glass left a green residue on the side as the liquid suggesting they could have used a lot of green food colouring, mixed random colours of food dye or found some sort of other "black" food dye (which I don't know if exists or not) or the could be many others ways to achieve this effect. EDIT: notice how the liquid stained his entire mouth if the lemon was naturally black nothing like that would have happened to that degree (unless the lemon was more a beet than a lemon)

The amount of people in the comments who don't understand this video is honestly embarrassing, so let me break it down for y'all a little. Black lemons aren't real; he painted the lemons and the inside as well and dyed the juice. Look at the editing when he's cutting and juicing. (ETA: yes, "black lemons" exist (they are dried limes), but "regular lemons that are naturally black", like he has in the video, do not; that's what I meant.) They've done so many videos with activated charcoal before, so if you really think Rob doesn't know what it is by now, I don't know what to tell you. He used regular charcoal for laughs and also probably because he likes to play with fire. Basically, if this video was straightforward, it would be a 1:00 video of making regular lemonade and stirring in some activated charcoal. That's it. If you're really here for a DIY, there you go. It's completely in Rob's sense of humor to make a video like this, like the time he "drank" glow sticks or the time he blew his fucking hand off. It's a joke, my friend :)
