As an engineer at a yacht company and a hobbyist builder/handyman, its such a joy to watch content from someone that really knows how to design & build creatively and correctly 😂 Most channels have me constantly thinking of how I would do their build process differently, but you’re one of the few thats at an expert level! Keep up the awesome content!

RAF’s ability to fit pieces so precisely continues to amaze me. Surprised he didn’t build a boat from scratch. It would have been a gem.

Building a fiberglass boat is kind of opposite to fitting the pieces precisely :) Not that he would not manage it.

Building a boat from _scratch?_ Yes, that may have even been *easier!* lol, j/k - BOATS are always and lot of work and money - AFTER you buy it - more so for the _cheap_ ones!

A plastic salt water strainer with again a tee, too ball valve to pressure fresh water, let’s you screen incoming salt water, backwash the intake too the toilets, the lay them up with fresh water which is better for the electric pump.. Also in the tropics when you have too keep the black water, better too run that on the fresh water, I throw in the BlueBio packs that RV’s use keep the head smelling nice. Also makes the pump out better.

Do I ever want to quit my job and sail around the world? Heck YA! Oh my gosh, how do I say this without being rude? Let’s start with the bread of the sandwich…. You guys have a great thing going! You have a beautiful, fresh, new, romantic story that we are all waiting to see unfold (Three episodes of the floors were a bit much, considering the delay of postings). “Next Week” may still be next week but not if it’s a Monday vs Friday. Raff has some amazing carpenter skills, and I’m ok with calling it a “kitchen” vs galley. I love watching his creativity unfold. Sasha is a beautiful, well educated young woman who’s laughter fills the air with warmth. Here’s my Dilemma ……. You guys have a ROCKING show with EXCELLENT content creation but you are lacking two things: Commitment and the BIGGEST, CONSISTENCY!!! I remember watching “Friends” every Thursday night, eight p.m. SHARP! Fast forward to 2023 and even Sailing Zatara has a freaking BRAND NEW vid EVERY Thursday WITOUT FAIL. I watch other sailing “Committed” channels that have OVER DOUBLE subs than this channel that are less creative. HINT: THEY ARE CONSISTENT. (Numbers don’t lie) It’s so frustrating to get attached to such a beautiful journey only to be let down with the inconsistency. I’m just being honest here. After all, how are you going to pay off that big loan? I, myself, really don’t want to invest in something that is not invested in my time and my wallet. It’s just part of vid life. And, not to mention, this has been filmed WAYYYY in advance according to their intro, nine months to be exact, so it’s really just editing that needs to take place. I’m just a really HUGE and frustrated fan. I’d be more willing to commit if you are. I pray that this constructive criticism finds you well and that it is only meant for your benefit. God bless.
@SpearItAnimal Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the thought out comment but we can assure you commitment is not something we lack…we edit Monday through Sunday no days off. We are trying to post weekly however most of these episodes start out as 20-30 HOURS of footage that we have to turn into 20-30 MINUTES. On top of cutting them down we have to make it both entertaining and informative. From the comments we receive everyone loves our videos and always wants more, longer, etc…Hopefully the quality of our videos speak for our commitment. We will be on a weekly schedule once we’re caught up to real-time in October! Please bare with us until then, we’re killing ourselves over here!

God Bless you. Thank you for your response. Please understand that I’m simply a HUGE FAN, enjoy your content and I think that you guys could really be something special. I’ve had my own KZbin channel, so I realize all of the content and editing that is involved. I really wish you guys nothing more than the best and really want to see you succeed! You guys are so much better than what you think. Your subs should be much higher given your talent. I’m praying for y’all. God Bless.

Of all the people I’ve watched on, KZbin you two should write a book on how to re-have a boat. I’ve looked at many videos, but yours it’s been the most interesting and well thought out, including those mistakes which were well thought out and fixed properly. My biggest fear in the middle of the ocean is fire, or hitting a floating container, putting a big hole in the side of your boat. PS I saw that the movie with Robert Redford. but you guys have made mistakes and picked up on it to make the fixes proper. As an old man, sailor, I am very proud of you too.

Just a tip when you drill holes in your boat put a drill stop on the drill bit so the drill bit does not go all the way into the hole that your drilling just use a bit of plastic tube that goes over the drill bit and just allows the tip of the drill to do the cutting of the hole . lol

Take the largest pan you can imagine to use on that gimbal stove. Have the least weight you can imagine in the oven. Then fill that pan with water and see how it will swing. Water will stay horizontal, so when you swing the gimbal the water will go to the side that moves down. You want a stiff swing so that you have good stability for your pot. With poor stability the gimbal could even topple over in the harbour. Make that test and if needed add weight at the bottom.

Fun to live vicariously through you two.I just have one question... If draining into the sink was so the water can go down the the waste water drain I am sure you could have achieved the same result with an under sink attachment like what is used to connect a Dishwasher to the drain and that way you wouldn't mess with the integrity of the sink... But it's easy to give advice after the fact. I do have to say you humility and willingness to admit when you make a mistake is refreshing.
