35:35 - what we use as filler, to avoid that discoloration is to mix the sawdust into some glue and then use it as a paste/filler so that the color of the filler matches the color of the wood.

This is a beautiful conversion! I'm currently working on my little NV200 too, so have taken some inspiration from this. Mild regrets on carpeting my barn doors now that i've seen how neat they can look with just the nice panels! xD

I live in the USA and we only have gasoline nv200s, not any electric ones. I own an NV3500 that I am going to be converting soon.

Hello, i love your designs i have been binging your channel over the last week as I've grown passionate about the concept of upcyclying vans into camper vans. I also just find your style very enchanting. I am wondering if you have any tips for beginners for getting started on doing something like this?

That's great, thanks James! I was going to so yes, get someone else to do it 😂 But no, not that I'm an expert, but I think having a good plan to begin with is helpful, it gives you continuity in the design and also ensures everything essential to you is present and will fit. Add 15% to what you think it will cost to build, people forget you need adhesive, glues, screws, latches etc. Kreg/Trend woodworking jigs are a great woodworking tool for beginners, you can use them to frame everything from your bed to your kitchen units, be sure to buy a few clamps with it to ensure the joins are nice and neat! The almost halfway point when you're putting the cladding/walls up always seems like breaking point to me, but don't feel disheartened about how long it has taken, it'll get there eventually and be worth it in the end. Also, don't be disappointed if you make mistakes, it's all part of the learning process and best to accept beforehand that they will happen, I probably redid 1/3 of the jobs on my first van conversion. And just a few small tips, don't over-clamp bonded windows, remember to use a voltage drop calculator when sizing wiring, use a tough paint/finish for heavy traffic areas, ventilate, double-check your electrical system is large enough to stay off-grid if you intend to and ensure you have enough money left to actually insure it, fix it, and ultimately, travel and enjoy it, best of luck 😁✌️

I've been thinking about the NV200 for quite a while. It's this or the Toyota Proace. The key thing will be the bed size. 160cm wide is mt ideal size. What is the finished bedsize? We love you your real wood feature items: the spice rack; the lift up marketry table, the shelf, the circular feature light; the rear step detailing; the shelf; but especially the control panel. Try & try again! You've done well!

Hey Karen! Thanks for the kind words, it's only around 100cm wide, I think the whole thing is only 160cm wide 😅 you might be able to get a van that has room for a kitchen unit up top, perhaps a VW Caddy Maxi for example

Rip saw blade (5 minutes) versus cross cut saw blade (40 minutes). We're losing our cultural base lore on non-electric hand tools, and it makes me wanna cry/lol

Hey Didi, the fit out weighs 200kg in total so it affects it a little but not too much, I got 130 miles out of it the other day fully laden 😊

Only a little, the entire fit out came to 200kg and managed to get around 120 miles the other day on mostly 60mph+ roads
