Please consider saving these molds, when I do my build in a few years I was planning on doing these same mods but would gladly buy parts or the molds if you’re willing. Beautiful work!

Absolutely. What model you thinking of?

@@barnbuiltbearhawk7267 also considering the Model B. Originally planned on the RV-15 due to familiarity with Vans but given their recent issues, not sure I want to wait long enough for them to figure it all out. Currently flying a 172 that I co-own out of KLEW

@@chrissaucier121 yeah I would not want to be in the middle of a build only to find I have to tear it all appart. If you want to connect reach out to me on bearhawk forums. My user name is Daniel

What is your rule of thumb for how much epoxy to mix when infusing? I’ve created several successful hand layups to replace my aluminum belly panels with carbon ones on a super Cub. I use the weight of the material and match that with the same weight of epoxy. Resulted in a 50:50-40:60 resin to fabric range as is the goal, as best hand layups can be.. My attempts into infusion have been a little more challenging. Seems like I mix too little or too much, and am chasing a magic starting point. Any quick tidbit would be appreciated as your parts are on point.

Thanks for the compliment! I have not been weighing my carbon prior to layup. The more I handle it the more it comes appart. I have been taking a guess and monitoring closely. If the resin feed gets low I quickly mix and degas more. ....but, you have to be on it. If you have to pinch the feed to wait on degassing it will impact the finish. I am not good enough yet on getting the right volume from the start.
