DIY Cat Drop Tower

In this video I will show you how to make drop tower from wood. It is a drop tower that uses the eddy current of a copper rod and a magnet as a brake. The actual ride uses the same principle of braking. It would be nice to make other toys using this brake system.

may I know wat exactly are the rounded hollow magnets for? afaik the large round magnets act as the braking mechanism as eddy current is produced when they shear along the copper rod.

how did u stop it from dropping（i mean the braking system） did u only use the eddy current？but i saw there is another magnet at the bottom

inside the clear tube is a magnet attached to the string. The motor pulls the magnet up the tube which pulls on the magnet in the car (chair part), pulling it up as well. When the car reaches the top it cant go any further but the motor keeps raising the magnet, increasing the distance between the two magnets, until the magnetic force is no longer able to keep the car suspended.

6:40 Good tutorial, but you did not even show us how you get that ring magnet inside the acrylic tube at this point in time.

The ring magnet is not inside the acrylic tube, you can see this at the 6:40 mark and also here catnoli.blogspot.com/2019/08/diy-drop-tower.html . Another way you could constuct this is by putting the magnet inside the tube instead but it'll have to be a strong one.
