Hey Paul, I had to get on here and drop you a comment. I always scour the internet for more knowledge and I have never come across someone who thoroughly explains and shows every little detail like you do. After stumbling across one of your videos, I went to your channel and watched every single one from the beginning until your latest one. Let's just say the wife wasn't too pleased that I was paying more attention to you rather than her over the past few days! I've gained so much more knowledge these past couple days through your videos than any other channel on KZbin so far! I can definitely tell you have a lot of experience under your belt and I appreciate that you are trying to help everyone else like me to learn more as you upload each video. You're the 2nd person on KZbin I've ever felt a need to leave a comment for, and the other person was in a totally different field (automotive), so for me to find the one person I literally appreciate in construction enough to leave this comment goes to show that you really have helped me so much throughout your videos. I hope you continue to upload new content with your knowledge because I built my wife and I's house ground up 2 years ago and would have loved to know your channel back then! I had to learn everything on my own from obscure teachings, nothing compared to what you provide in your videos. Luckily for me, I am building a shed and wanted to get a few more insights into the matter and came across one of your old videos (2014 I believe), and that's when I went on a binge watch of your whole channel. You have most certainly gained a new subscriber and dedicated follower to your channel. I can't wait to see what else is in store next and hope this message receives you well. Afterthought, my parents are both disabled and both have had accidents in the shower, so when I saw your video about remodeling your mother's bathtub, it definitely peaked my interest and will look further into the company in order to install this for them. Thank you again for all your insight! By the way, love the stang and the vette! I recently was gifted my dad's a few years back, 98 vette with 20k original miles. Love the thing to death!

You are the man. Absolute best video on vaulted crown molding cuts. I was racking my brain on the mitre saw with how to make this cut upside down as all other cuts are made. Then I realized it's not possible as it's mitred as in inside cut with the top longer like an outside cut. Next was figuring out that my crown guard must change to accept the new " nested" position of the crown right side up against the mitre saw fence. You confirmed this all for me perfectly. All these other vaulted angle videos are not covering these crucial things needed to make this happen start to finish. You killed this! Thankyou

Hi Paul. I appreciate this demo. (I'm going to get one of those miter saw protractors so I don't have to calculate!) It confirmed my accidental discovery that you have to cut the peak on a vaulted cathedral ceiling with the molding right side up. You mentioned at 5:15 minutes that you were going to do another video on how to get the horizontal pieces for the vaulted ceiling. Where is that? I cannot find.

Hi Greg, unfortunately I have not able to get this video out as soon as I wanted. I’m dealing with cancer so I had surgery in Houston at MD Anderson last week. I should be back before too long but I want to explain to you a little bit about how to do the horizontal. I am going to give you the easiest way. First do you rate cut just like I said it will be right side up instead of upside down and backwards. You will make the bottom cut going into the wall to where it sits flush against the wall. This cut will look like an outside cut with a long point will be at the bottom of the crown and it will sit flush against the wall. This is very important! Always Cope your horizontal piece into your rake if you are going to cope. If you try to do the opposite way they will not match.The smaller the crown the easier this is to do because the thickness of the crown will make your horizontal piece kick off the wall a tiny bit. With small ground you can caulk the bottom and it will match. I don’t wanna confuse you so I would have to show the other steps in a video. I will show tips on how to make all of this work but unfortunately I’m a little under the weather right now. Thanks and I will do my best to get this together soon.

What's the deal with the stainable primer? You know, the 2 vids you did about 6 years ago. Could you please let us know specifically where to purchase this product? Is there a website? What big retailers sell this? I've tried Amazon, but to no avail. Is this product still being manufactured?
@paulstoolbox2 жыл бұрын
Good morning Michael, Stainable primer dropped the ball. I was very disappointed with the company because I tried to contact them numerous times without even a phone call back, but another company picked it up and is doing very well with it. If you look up Retique it Liquid Wood you will find what you are looking for. This is a reputable company that took over the product and have improved it. This company also sells well-known chalk paint on Amazon. I have purchased many of their products and have been very satisfied. If I can answer any other questions please let me know, please keep in mind I am going through some medical issues right now so I may not get back to you immediately, I am battling cancer for the second time but no worries I’ll be back. Have a good day!

@paulstoolbox2 жыл бұрын
Good morning Dean, I definitely recommend learning how to use a protractor if you are a carpenter but the average DIYer is better off keeping it simple. I show the math in a quick segment. Subtract your protractor reading from 180 ( Straight Line) and you get your proper angle. You then bisect the angle to get your miter cut.. I didn't want to lose peoples interest by giving a math lesson LOL( I never liked math myself) . I really appreciate you watching, I am trying to get the word out for my friend! God Bless you and your family!

I am dealing with cancer for the second time so for now I will cover topics that I can video for now. I do have videos in my crown playlist that cover installing crown. I hope they will help for now. This video is good for pentagonal ceilings but doesn't illustrate cutting for 'vaulted-ceiling'. Who would have crown run down the walls to the floor? The correct cut should run along the eave site of the building.
